I'm never sure what to do when I'm first to act and I flopped a draw. A small bet might look like a draw, a big bet like pair/pairs/set. I have been mixing up how I act in this situation, favoring a flush draw over a oesd, and with reasonable results, but it's still one of those iffy situations.

i think it depends on the pre flop game , the type of draw , type of players and what position are you in...

If i have 14 outs i`m raising, i want to build up a nice chip stack if i win the pot.. if i`m on a draw with 8 outs and the flop looks scary i might check and hope to see the turn cheaply it also depends what players are behind me and stuff. hard to say.. it kind of depends on the situation im in at the time...

If you're 1st to act you with a draw you really should be cbetting. I mean you didn't limp 1st in did you?

I might have limped in, I like connectors, and at a table that seems passive I limp fairly often.

do what you always do , push and get lucky :)

naw , I would make a 1/2 pot or 3/4 pot bet representing TP to disguise the draw , I'd call a small raise and fold to a large one . you did limp in UTG and besides the nuts you got what you wanted , a good draw .
if it hits they won't put you on it .
my opinions just come out while typing and may or may not be what I would do much less what you should do :)

if you're just mining for the nuts then ck / fold but can't see playing that type of hand UTG unless you're ready to gamble .

I think this usually happens when just calling a raise from the blinds. If that's the case, I like a check-raise. If I was the preflop raiser, then I like to c-bet.

In the former case, I think a check-raise is safer and somewhat disguised. I check-raise into a preflop raiser with a wide range of made hands as well as the draws. If I just come out betting into the PFR, then it often looks like a feeler bet, which will get raised if he has any decent made hand. If he's an aggressive player, he might even raise that kind of bet without a pair (I do this sometimes), because feeler bets usually represent hands that have to fold to any resistance.

In the latter case, c-betting tells nothing about the hand. I c-bet with nothing, I c-bet with draws, and I c-bet with the nuts. I think going for a check-raise is ok if you also sometimes check-raise with monsters if you made the PFR. I hate check-calling, because it's just asking for another bet on the turn. Another good argument against check-calling is that out of position, the ratio of value from getting a fold versus the value of hitting your hand and getting paid off is higher. In other words, you don't get paid off from hitting your draw as much if you're out of position.
