Unfortunately I don't have the full graph but before I switched computers I had a -15 buy in EV graph and the other -15 is during live play. This graph is 23 buy ins under. What a ####ing year.

Yes it can and did. I too was running 36bi under ev for the year until the beginning of June and it crushes your poker soul...
Since then I've turned off the EV line and not looked at it. There is nothing you can do about it so I suggest you stop worrying about it turn it off and ignore it. All it makes you do is wallow in your bad luck and feel sorry for yourself.

Post your stats for comment, the graph looks like you play your A game often enough and then take a few beats lose control and tilt.
I know from your previous posting history that you are a good thinking player but I suggest you need to get a grip on this tilt. Take a break, play something else like small tourns and sng for a while to cool off then look at what is setting/sparking you off and set a stop limit of 4bi for the session if you hit that then just stop.
Its called steaming for a reason, if you are feeling hot and angry then just shut down and inject the logic of the long term nature of the game.
You are the casino you have an edge, every now and then a donkey gets lucky but in the long term you win.

Well said Fig, but this was really just a subtle red line brag. JK but yeah, the last 5k hands have had a lot of tilt factored in. I just got off taking a break but I'm going to take until at least the weekend off and dive into a few more of these Upswing modules. So far I like the set up of the training site. It is based off specific hands and theories instead of just sweating a pro that is recording his session and talking like Run It Once.

Yeah man, they want you to cry.

Just checked from PT4: My whole career -68BI under EV, this year -3BI. Luckily I most of the time I had no idea what EV is ;)

If people spent as much time making sure they are playing the best they can each session and improving/fixing leaks, as they spend complaining about bad beats and how bad they run, poker would be so much harder! :)

Make sure you have a big enough of a bankroll for your stakes.

Make profitable decisions and continually improve your play and reads on opponents.

Check your balance at the end of the year.

Good luck to you! :D

DoughPkrMonsta, you do understand what running -50 BI under EV means? Your post kind of gives an impression you don’t, if that is the case it’s always a bad idea to comment.

Considering I studied finance for quite a few years I think I can grasp expected value. Running bad in poker is not new to me either, thanks for looking out for me though.

Anyways yes I know what it means and I know what you seem to think it is as well - what you don't seem to understand is that focusing on your all-in ev (which is out of your control) can lead to tilt and bad play.

Lose two flips and you are one buyin under ev because you had 50 percent on each hand. Get it in with 20 percent five times and that's another buyin but it doesn't mean you played well.

Look at these hands sometime and try to figure out what you can do differently if you are that worried about it but over time the flips will even out (or at least get closer together) and you will be left with hands where you were all-in and lost to a bad beat and hands where you were all-in and gave out a bad beat.

I advocate playing for the long term and not worrying about short term fluctuations... focusing on what you can't control is counterproductive, so stop worrying about how many times a 15 percent shot got there or how many flips you lost.

Good luck!

Have goals, but do not let these goals require too much pressure on you, this will disrupt your game.
GOOD Lucky!
