So, I was wimping around at stars losing steadily trying to conserve my BR w lo limit crap, losing, then went to another site and took a huge jump in limits last nite, found a fish sitting at 2 to 20 dollar tables alone, moved in and took hundreds from him, since then have moved up to do same at other sites and it is working.
Being conservative has its limits. These fishies at 5 10 play looser than a goose, I love it.
Any ideas on higher limit games -- that is where the crazy good action lies.

If you're not beating 1/2 you have issues... And stud has hella variance, so, um, yeah, do the bankroll management thing.

txs c9, i do fine at 1/2 most places, just took a downswing at stars recently, and started playing scared I think. Then I did the Rambo thing and moved up for a while, it put the kick back in my game. Yes, always got my eye on the BRM thing... you are right, I cant keep winning up there (or anywhere). Overall tho, I find less variance in limit stud than NLHE.

Didn't say you couldn't keep winning. I can probably be a long term winner at 5/10. But my bankroll can't support it. Everyone will have bad runs, and if you don't have the roll to support them, you go bust.

Its one thing to take shots, where you're slightly under-rolled, and getting used to playing at that higher limit. Its another thing to take shots WAY above your usual limit, just because you've had a rough day.

True. In this case I saw a lone duck sitting at a bunch of tables and smelled blood. And I have enough of a roll to absorb a loss at 5/10, so took a shot at him. Rather, I took repeated shots in a hit and run (or drive by) fashion: When he was occupied in a hand at the full 1/2 game, I popped in to his table at 3/6 and played a few hands, took some cash and ran. Then when he started talking in another game, I popped in at 5/10 and took a few down and left. Then busted him for the antes at 2/4 and left. Then played a few hands back at 1/2. I was watching him; he wasn't watching me, until he was down 200 or so. He he he.

I have to say multitabling in stud is a bad idea; you can't read all the boards at once. Multitabling HU at hi limits is suicide. He was a sitting duck. The hit and run strategy kept him off balance while I could focus on the tables I wanted to.

It is not unusual to see lone ducks sitting at several higher limit tables at once looking for HU action. Hit and run worked, in this case, to separate this guy from his chips.

I think he was drunk, it was late at night, and also he was a lousy player, a real chaser. He was one of those peeps playin for fun, with lots of money, just lucky for me and others. He must have dropped 500 or more before he quit in disgust after an hour or so...
Weekend warrior I guess. I'm keepin an eye out for him lol!
