I was in a sound 2nd place with 16k in chips and the leader with 23k with only 7 left in a $5 sng. I was in bb with 8 10 and the big stack is only caller.I flop botoom 2 with 8 10 Q. I make min bet and get minimum raised. I move in. MY thinking is I have best hand and if I can get a call I am in commandinf first or I pick up pot so he doesnt draw. I get minimum raised so often with trash that maybe I didn't heed the raise like I should have (obviously).I am interested in any feed back.I went out 7th but I like to win. I could have folded to top 3 but that isn;t my style.

Bottom 2 pair is a strong hand, but analyze it based on hands that can beat you, and you'll see that you've overplayed it in the face of a reraise. You ddidn't say, but I'm assuming the villain held a J-9, in which case you were puffing nearly dead(4 outer), about a 5-1 dog. Under those conditions, yeah, too fast, which by the way is correct. To fast involves going without food; uncomfortable perhaps, but won't knock you out of a tourney unless you faint.

chipstacks matter

The more that needs to be said is that chipstacks matter!

It is not "playing to win" to get into a confrontation with the other bigstack(s) near the bubble or minor prizes. The smallstacks are just licking their chops hoping to leapfrog you in the standings by just watching. Even a very good hand is not enough to challenge another bigstack.

Better IMO to "team up" with the other bigstacks to put pressure on the lil guys.

Even if the guy's being a bully, deal with him later, like when it's heads up.
I like to think I'm "letting" him do the heavy lifting. ;) Especially if you think you've got a good line on him and would like to meet him HU.
