Help me analyze my stats please?? :D

This is basically the recording of my first 9.5k hands of online poker, well poker ever. I have been using a HUD on Bovada that keeps track of all my stats and looked at them for the first time today and I am pretty disappointed.

I should let you guys know that 95%+ of these hands where played on Bovada 5NL 6Max

#Hands 9450

VPIP 35

This number shocked me the most, I never realized how loose I played and like to think that a lot of this was from the first 2k or so hands. Pretty much all the single sessions I track these days my VPIP is around 23-27.

PFR 17

Once again, I am quite disappointed in this stat. At first I did not realize how important PFRing was. I am guilty of limping into a lot of pots when I first started. Now in a regular session my PFR is usually just behind my VPIP.

3bet%/Fold to 3bet% 7|29

This is a stat I would like some advice on, I personally feel like my 3bet% is decent but my Fold to 3bet should be a lot higher, especially on the micros. Advice in this area would be greatly appreciated :)

Steal Attempt %/Fold to Steal Attempt% 36|61

I am pretty unsure where I want to be with this stat, I THINK it is ok, but advice is appreciated. (Maybe its one of my many leaks)

AF 3.2

Pretty happy with this.

CBet%/Fold to CBet% 65|56

I think I heard that you want to CBet 75% of the time so I probably want to do that more. The folding to CBet 56% of the time kind of worries me, should I fight the CBet more or fold more?

Went to Showdown%/Went to Showdown and Won% 30|49

I was surprised to see this was in the green because I feel like I have ended most of my sessions in recent memory with this stat being red. Thoughts on this?

Net -$136.51

How much I have lost so far in these 9,450 hands which is about 25bb/100. Anyone have some more exact math on how I can figure my bb/100?

With all this said I do realize that 9.5k hands is not much of a sample size but I would like some feedback before I make my next deposit of $100+ so I can make any immediate changes that are needed.

One last thing, which is what I suspect my biggest leak to be. I pay off peoples big hands way to much. In recent memory from the last 2 weeks I can think of 5 spots where I stacked off with the weaker hand. 2 times was when I had the 2nd nut straight and they had the nut straight and there could of been weaker straights out there. They had the exact combo of cards they needed which was AQ one hand and AJ the other hand. Another time was when someone had a set of Kings over my set of Eights. At the time I REALLY wanted to lay this down but to call was only another $1.50 or so into a decent sized pot. The final one was from today and I really wanted to lay it down too but I did not. Here is a HH of it

Hero is dealt KsKd

UTG: Calls $0.05
UTG+1 Folds
UTG+2 Folds
Dealer Raises $0.10
SB Folds
BB(HERO) Raises $0.25
UTG: Calls $0.20
Dealer: Calls $0.15

Flop($0.75) 2c2h4s

BB(HERO) Bets $0.75
UTG Calls $0.75
Dealer Folds

Turn($2.16) 7c

BB(HERO) Bets $1.00
UTG Raises $4.00
BB(HERO) Calls $4.00 and is all in

River 5c

Villian turns over pocket 2's for quads.

I feel like the turn should of been an easy fold but I was just thinking he had an over pair to the board and what of the odds of him having one of 3 combos that beat me, 22, 44, AA. Thoughts? Should I have made that lay down? At the time I wanted to lay it down and felt beat but I didn't. I feel like these situations are my biggest leaks and really need advice in this area. All in all, am I a calling station? Lol

Thanks ahead time for sharing your wisdom with me CC :)

What stakes are you playing? I assume 6-max?

I'm sure it's there somewhere but I must have missed it.

Ok,
1) You're too loose (especially for micro stakes with a bunch of loose fish on Bovada). Tighten up your range.
2) You're too passive. Never open limp. Rarely limp behind. Call raises only when set mining with the right odds or you're on the button against a tight range with a hands that can flop well. Stop completing in the SB if you currently are. It's rarely going to be a winning play.
3) Learn to fold to 3bets!!! Calling them OOP should be done almost never. Don't call 3bets solely to set mine without deep effective stacks (160bb+) and an opponent who is willing to get it in on the flop with an overpair.
4) You can cbet a bit more but if a lot of the pots are going multiway to the flop 65% might be just fine.
5) By my calcs you're losing closer to 29bb/100. (Total lost / .05) / (total hands / 100)

Heya I also had the problem of playing too loose and spewy when I was just starting out.

Definitely play tighter and be more agressive preflop. You are limping way too many. Your VPIP and PFR should not be so far apart. 3b value looks fine, should prob fold to 3b more.

Cbet value could be a little higher yes. Fold to cbet looks fine, its still fine if you go a little bit lower. While its true that its important to not get run over, you shouldn't be continuing hands just because of that and put yourself in uncomfortable spots, leading to mistakes.

Went to SD looks ok. Won at SD should be a tad bit higher. At micros most of the winnings are going to come from getting value against those who can't lay down their worse hands.

Just try to play Tight Agressive ABC poker, and once you're comfortable enough you can start doing more creative stuff. It is enough to be a winning player at micros.

Best of luck.

My name is honeycrush and I'm a recovering calling station.:D

I think you have the right idea. If you take the above advice you should be fine. The only thing I would add is that if a passive fish suddenly gets aggro on turn or river, and you don't have a monster, then you should probably fold.

The other advice I would give is not to get married to your hands - especially overpairs. If you have just an overpair or a marginal hand (eg a pair when you are holding AQ, KQ or AJ) then exercise some pot control (check or check back one street) and again fold to extreme aggression.

Doing the above along with not calling fishy minbets on the river with just a bluff catcher has saved me a lot of money. It's also increased my winrate (from negative to positive - haha)! Hope it works for you too. :)

Thanks for the advice tohos and I especially like won at SD advice, maybe I should work on my value betting. I know when I have a big hand I usually pot it on boards with any draws because of a fear of being drawn out on. Maybe I should go for more value and get sucked out on time to time.

And Honeycrush, its nice to hear from a recovering calling station :p I will for sure work on that, I am thinking about resetting my tracker and putting in another 10k hands and updating this thread in a couple weeks.

No need to reset your tracker. Just play the hands and then filter for a date range (or last x number of hands).
