Could anyone recommend some decent reading material for someone relatively new to the cash games? Currently playing at 2NL and almost ready to go up to 4NL. I've touched upon David Sklansky's The Theory of Poker and have been recommended Ryan Fee's 6 Max NL Strategy Guide. I was just wondering what else is out there that a player like me could benefit from?

Just to add so people have an idea...

- I've been playing poker on and off for about two years but only in the past few months have I picked it up again properly. Got myself a HUD set up and have been playing a few hours each day.

- I play at £2NL/$4NL/£4NL.

- I have a basic understanding of things but am still pretty new really.

- I'm currently by definition a losing player but my EV is positive - I've been on the receiving end of a lot of bad beats so far. So I'm not a terrible player but there is obviously room for improvement.

Thanks for reading guys!

I haven't read through it completely yet, but Professional No Limit Holdem by Ed Miller is supposed to be very good

Id take a look at BlackRains book called "Crushing the Microstakes." I've almost finished it and its helped me at ton.

When Im done Im going to check out Qtips book called "Poker Math that Matter" to help get a better grasp of some more math in poker.

I'm delving into Harrington's book at the moment.Has some stuff which has helped me control some aggressive impulses.

I'm specializing in razz however, and so far can't go wrong at low limits 50/100 cents.

I like Professional No Limit HoldEm and No Limit HoldEm Theory and Practice because they really get you all the most important concepts. I would suggest finishing these at a comfortable pace. Also, try to remember that most micro players are not rational and will not play by the book, so they will showdown some crazy hands.

I honestly can't see myself playing without a HUD now. I'm not sure how they work for MTTs but I can't think they'd be a bad thing to have on your side!

I'd just read forums until you were at around 25nl +, maybe read poker math that matters before then cause its solid at explaining a lot of the common maths stuff, Small stakes holdem by ed miller is very good but i can guarantee it wont be incredibly useful until you are at small stakes (50nl+)
