We might have a conversation about building a fence.
You say, 'What kind of fence?"
"I suggest wood, its cheaper, and we can do it ourselves."
You ask "Get the stuff wholesale?"
I respond 'Great".

A simple conversation in English, that really gets quite a bit of info across, but the final resolution is unclear until the fence is finished.

I am beginning to understand the language of the betting rounds of poker.
Gawd it took me a long time. It took a long time for me to first realize that there was a difference between a min raise and a 3 or 4x raise, and a bit longer to understand that I had to use that terminology. It has taken a very long time for me to understand the usage of the reraise. It is a good friend these days. The intentional limp, the intentional min raise, all are my friends, and I am beginning to use them fluently.

Even against donks.

It is easy to read about these and the many more 'inflections' in the bidding war of actions set about to take that pot away from my enemy, but I find I still have to practice, as the language is not my native one, and every day seems to have evolved.

So, from a purely practical POV, what might be on a list of actions to practice on a regular basis, possibly before a large event with lots at stake. Like a bball player wouldn't go into a game without warming up his body, he would shoot many hoops pregame, and try to tune into the weight of the ball, the conditions of the air, and whatever else he could think of.

What might be on a poker players list?

I used to always play Collapse before I played. Helped with my quick thinking. Now it's Bejeweled. :joyman:

Early I need Pepsi, Middle = Water, Late it's a shot (or two) of Courage in the form of tequila, :bandit: then more water.
