Hey guys, basically I got into a masters program and got a job yesterday! so now i really need to save money and am working 3-11 monday-friday. since my hours are pretty weird im going to attack cash and see how that goes since i can play small sessions each day.

Im planning to start at 10nl with 40bi.
so thats where I am currently at now.

questions:

6max or full ring? Im inclined to move towards 6max cause it seems way more fun.

How do i table select?

what should I put on my HUD?

go go go go

6max

I go for the looser (more players/flop) tables, and/or start my own.

My current HUD:-

VPIP/PFR/hands
FTS/3bet/Sqz/F3bet/4bet
RFI EP/MP/CO/BTN/SB
Flop cbet/Turn cbet/River cbet/Fold flop cbet/Fold Turn cbet/Fold River cbet

Plus a lot of custom pop ups for things like BvB, vsHero, 3bet/F3bet by position etc.

GL man! :)

6max

Looser tables, fish on right nits on left ideally

My HUD is:

VPIP / PFR / AfQ / hands
3bet / Fold to 3bet / flop cbet / Fold to flop cbet
Turn Cbet / WTSD / W$SD / Steal / Attempt to Steal

RFI stats like Cafe has are good if you use HEM

edit: I never look at WTSD or W$SD, Ishould remove them they are pretty useless tbh

ok my tournament HUD was

notes/name/hands/stack size
vpip/pfr/3b/ft3b/AFq
atttosteal/fold to blind reraise/cbet/ftcbet.

iv changed it to

notes/name/hands/
vpip/pfr/3b/ft3b/4bet/atttosteal/
cbet/ftcbet/tcbet/foldtcbet/rcbet.

removed stack size cause blinds wont be such awkward sizes.
removed AFq cause iv never used it
removed fold to blind reraise cause i barely used it and button/sb/bb ranges will be tighter and i dont need encouragement to be too agg.

thinking about adding in rfi but havent yet. colour coded no of hands and vpip/pfr/3b/cbet but they probably need adjusting, have a green/yellow red system going. and no of hands darkens as it grows.

I think for you should be playing 6max, not FR.

Not sure if it's BR management issues why you're starting at 10nl, but I think you would be fine at 16nl/25nl then again, I guess it won't take you long to build a roll for 25nl. Also; I wouldn't bother table selecting at 10nl from my experience the vast majority is so spewy.

GL will follow.

I used to have them on my HUD too, but I don't anymore. However, I do find them useful to look at from time to time. I have a popup that shows WTSD/W$SD/WWSF and a few other general stats. Sometimes when I have a close decision, whether it be to fire again or to call, I look at those numbers, and if I have a big enough sample, it might just sway the decision.

For example, if I see that they have a low WWSF and a high W$SD, I will take a river bet more seriously (i.e. it's more likely to be for value than as a bluff). Obviously it's action, board and loads of other 'it depends' factors dependent, but you know what I mean :)

Why not make it larger pre? OOP I would be making it 4x as standard. Morons at these limits will happily setmine in 3-bet pots so I like to charge them extra preflop. I reckon you see a set here just as often as you see TT/JJ/QQ, I'm still never folding though.

do you moderately discount combos of sets for not raising flop, and same for overpairs?

If he is setmining then he perceives your range as as mostly overpairs. Most likely he wants you to feel commited by firing the second barrel before he reveals his hand strength, the same goes for if he has an overpair and thinks you may have AK. He isn't scared of the flush coming in because to him it only makes it more likely that you will be calling a turn shove with the A high/K high flush draw to his set/overpair.

Honestly at these stakes the turn is a street of revelation. Very rarely will you ever see a flop raise from someone with a set. The only time that happens is on a draw heavy multiway flop. Even then the only players who will be raising a set are aggressive players who understand that their hand is vulnerable. Plenty of passive fish will call with 66 on a 5s6s7d board.
