I usually will go with a £10 cash game try and double my money then I leave. And start again so if I loose next time I still have my original £10. Does anyone else do this or something similar? Wish poker stars had the option to put money in ur account from the money at the table so I don't have to leave and come bk.

They intentionally don't allow that because everyone would lower their stack to the buy-in every time they won if they could.

Stop being such a baby and learn to play gradualy slowly slowly even with triple your buyin.

Sometimes you will lose many buy-ins on a downswing but win it all back because of physically unattainable stack size by staying long enough that you couldn't buy-in with making you able to multiply it via one or two significant hands.
Or do what you do. You will make less doing what you do, I guarantee it.

Its not about your stack but your opponents.

Better the table the more we want on the table and why would we want to leave or shrink our stack on a winning table it doesnt make sense.

There is variance in the game that will cost you your stack from time to time. If there are multiple tables available, and you wish to bank a profit, why not.

But I would not put a number to it. That is just limiting. Look at reasons such as table players change, the easy money is gone, the guy on tilt is gone, good player sits to your left, something irritates you, you are getting tired, starting to tilt, getting hungry, played too long etc etc

If you are playing and you are not bringing 100%, total focus, optimal game THEN take a break until you can !

Mentality of a losing player is to lose as little as possible.

Mentality of a winning player is to win as much as possible.

Mentality of winning players is both at once. You are making player play worse.

It is insane how backwards you think about everything that has to do with poker.
You are meant to minimize your losses via folding etc and meant to maximise your winnings by raising good amounts proportional to how sure you are this bet is going to profit you (including if it's designed as a reasonable bluff).

I have been insulted by many people in my life, bullying and taunting doesn't affect me because I know that it is from envy.

I play better with free money so once I took my money back out. I can relax and play poker with no regret. I feel I make a better choice when the money is free

The first part sounds like something from a 2003 blog post on how to beat poker.

The 2nd part, it's hard for me to be envious of someone that is to ashamed to share their results and don't look at criticism as bullying. If anyone is a bully on the Cash Game forums, it's YOU!!! You literally made a thread insulting tournament players.

Couldn't you just double up and stay at the table?

What I mean is you still have that 10 that you are up and playing with a bigger stack at the table should bring you some kind of advantage.

Even if you lose and go under you initial buy-in I think having a bigger stack makes me play more comfortable.

Whatever works for you my friend I would continue to do.

GOod luck!

Setting the drop limit to 200bb is a bit too deep imo. 130bb is better, while 160 second step (for example) as there is no practical (?) difference between 200bb or 160bb deep.

It's good to push your comfort level deeper and deeper while you develop as a player.

This is what I'm trying to do. Sooooo many times I've doubled or tripled up only to get sucked out on and lose a massive pot, and then the bleeding starts. Often l not only get back to even, but lose my initial buy-in as well.

So now (as of two days ago) I'm doing the double up and leave strategy. So far so good.....

My plan is to keep this up until I've built a proper bankroll.
