In short, do you vary your defense frequency based on the position of the player who 3-bet against you?

So for example if you open from UTG and you get 3-bet by either MP or BU. Your MDF is based on your opening range and their 3-bet sizing so it shouldn't really matter from where you got 3-bet, but on the other hand Villains 3-betting range against UTG should be a bid wider from BU rather than MP, right? Seeing as Villian then has a smaller chance of getting cold 4-bet or cold called from the later positions. So with that in mind it would make some sense to defend wider against BU then MP since their 3-betting range is wider as well making your calls more +EV. So should you make your continuing range from UTG equal the MDF against MP but then make it wider facing bets from later positions? Do you also have to make special cases for when defending against 3-bets from the blinds since then you're also in position making flatting better?

header of the post should be 'Does your range for defending against 3-bets* change based on the position of Villian?'

Essentially you want to distinguish as much as possible as you allready stated. That means from every position vs every position.
This can be a bit much to learn in the beginning but you'll get there.
As for sizings I'd go for a ip and a oop sizing as a default. You may allways vary that to exploit.
