Does your raising range widen or tighten with a limper ahead of you?

Limiting to one open limper ahead of you, would you tighten or widen your raising range?

For example if you usually open with nothing less than AQo in MP in a FR game and there is a limper ahead of you, what is your new requirement for raising? Does it widen to AJo KQo since you have position on a limper or does it tighten up to AQs AK because you have another player and you need to open with something stronger?

I'm a micro stakes player, so personally mine tightens, as many people on the micro level can't stand to fold w/o seeing a flop after they put 1 whole blind in the pot.

OTB or in the CO with one limper infront my raising range is gonna be huge.
If he has a high FCB% or low limp/call im gonna raise with atc.
Open limpers suck and are gonna play alot of fit fold OOP against us so raising and either taking it down prf or with a cbet is gonna be hugely profitable.

btw i play mostly 6max but that shouldnt matter much.

It would tighten, and I would be raising higher.

CAVEAT - I'm thinking of medium stacked cash game play here, effective stacks 100bb's, this does not translate directly to shortstacked play.

For those of you saying "tighter", think about this - what is he limping w? Yes, sometimes it's going to be AA, but usually it's not, and if you've played w the guy for a while, you'll prob have a sense of whether he'd do that.

Now, forget about your cards for a second. A limp from up front can be a huge range depending on the player (if you use a HUD, see how frequently he limps from EP - if he's open limping regularly in EP, he's a drooling fish begging you to take his money, be nice and accomodate him). Putting the player on a range is important - but in general (readless) you're probably looking at small/med pp's, some med and/or suited A's, and some pretty connectors/broadways/etc. If he rarely open limps in EP, you can put him on a tighter range, small/med pp's and AJs+ type hands.

How often will those hands hit a flop hard enough to play a raised pot oop postflop?

How often will everyone behind you (through BTN) fold if you raise? You need reads on those guys as well. Can you increase the chance that you'll buy the button (i.e., everyone through BTN folds) w a bigger raise?

After you answer those questions, how important are your cards and how tightly should you play here?

Sindri or anyone else for that matter do you know how to configure the limp call stat in pokertracker? Is it a custom stat?

Limp

i always raise bigger to eliminate him having a drawing hand if i have a hand like 10 10 or jacks, however if you have a hand like AA or KK and your table is relatively tight you should make a small raise or call and be careful if a flush or straight draw comes out.
