Just wondering if there is anyone on this forum who plays on the UK site Sky Poker. The software is ok'ish could be better, competition is loose and fishy at the micros. Nobody respects a standard 3x raise, so I have now switched to a default 4x raise pre. There are some issues however;

1) Pokertracker/HEM is NOT compatible - how much of a disadvantage would this be to my development. I've started making mental notes as well as proper notes on the opposition I have faced.

2) Table selection - ok so the amount of tables running is low compared to other sites, about 12 tables for 4nl. Sky poker does show you average pot, but it doesn't give the players/flop, which is important for table selection.

3) Should I consider switching sites to pokerstars, full tilt, 888 etc. I was playing 4nl as a newbie, but Im down about 5-6 BI's. I ideally wanted to start at 10nl cause I had a more than adequate bankroll for that level but thought I should learn the game properly then move up to 10nl/20nl.

4) Hand History - I've noticed that it only saves the last 500 hands. On hand history page, it has 50 pages with 10 entries each page. This wouldn't be ideal for reviewing our play.

Can anyone give me any advice?

I don't want anyone respecting my raises!

Pretty sure MicroMachine got a free tenner to play on there, might be wrong though, he'll no doubt show up to correct me :)

Yes, just move to a site with more traffic and better software that's also compatible with a HUD. Using a HUD is not essential by any means, but it doesn't hurt starting now if you intend on moving up in the future.

When I first decided to start playing poker online I just jammed €500 on stars and kicked right off at 10NL. Then I found this forum and discovered that I didn't have a clue. So after posting a couple of hands and being torn a new one, I moved down the 2NL and worked my way up from there.

You need to learn the basics, and considering you've already dropped a few BIs at 4NL, you might as well start at 2NL until you are crushing. 2NL is beatable at an insane WR if you know what you're doing.

Thems are my thunks on the matter anyhoo.

Yeah I played a bit on there with the free £10. I found the software horrible though - no HUD, can't tile tables (wtf right) unless they are in small mode or whatever its called but that looks like shite, no timebank. OTOH the games did seem incredibly fishy but that's about all its got going for it imo. I would say you're better off playing on a site with decent software and where you can use your HUD.
