Just wondering how often people join waiting lists on FT when the table has a high VPIP, or you see a marked fish at a table. I'm at 5NL right now.

Usually, I like to jump in, so I find a table that has >35% and try it out for a while. Usually, a >40 will pop up, and I will try and jump into that before someone grabs it.

My question is when click the box to show full tables, the real loose tables are 4 or 5 deep waiting lists. Is there any benefit to waiting this out? I'd imagine there are 2 or 3 fish at the table giving the high VPIP rating, but with 4 or 5 guys who must know what they're doing (otherwise they wouldn't target that table and wait). I would think that about the time I got into it, the fish would be busto, and I'd be at a table full of LAGs and TAGs. My cutoff is usually no more than 2 on the waiting list. Just looking for everybody's input on this.

God I wish this was the case above 5NL. At 25NL there are basically no tables without waiting lists other than the ones that are braking up or a table full of nits. Anything with more than 30% VPIP or 20bbs avg pot will have a waiting list at least 5 deep.

If you are going to move up you will have to start using the waiting lists although if the tables are fishy enough as you are doing it now then I wouldn't bother...

Yep ive just started adding 10NL tables to my 5NL sessions, and what a difference, hardly any tables above 30 until certian times of the day and always waiting lists. i usually wait on them if theres 2 or 3 also. 5NL its pretty easy to always find juicy tables after a few minutes wait as theres always new ones popping up. id stop being so picky though of course going for over 30 is good but at 5Nl ill join ones over 25 also and leave when they fall below 20 (if theres no money to be made)

At the higher levels you just have to jump on a bunch of waiting lists and then check who is on the table when it comes available. Also works well to start tables.....usually will fill quickly....at busy times of day may have to play 10 or so hands short handed before table fills.

Jump in

I usually jump in the action on two tables, then join some waiting lists for the other tables. I multi 4 NL5 tables. At least that way I can hit the ground running right away.

I pretty much follow the same routine as the OP. I look for the tables with the highest VPIP and no more than 2-3 people on the waiting list. Any more than that and the game will have changed completely by the time I'm seated.

The question is why would you play on FT if you can barely find tables above 30% vpip at 25nl

Fish don't like waiting!

Exactly.

I posted a similar question a while back and got some good advice from FP:

Fire up a bunch of tables and get rid of the ones you don't like.
