Was playing a couple $2NL tables tonight, and at one was someone with a big stack. He was talking a lot. Saying this is "His Table" bragging how everyone is an easy read. Basically being a jerk.
I know his plan was to piss everyone off, to put everyone on tilt.
I did lose my stack when he hit a set, but bought back in and got some back.
Anyhow, my question. Do you stay at this table hoping for karma to kick in, try and punish this jerk,
or do you think it's best to just leave your pride behind and look for an easier table to make money?

If you feel you are being targeted by the chip leader you can choose to move. Otherwise, I'd say it depends on your level of play vs this other person.

yes. Holding grudges won't mean nothing. I use to do this at stars when I was starting. Some decent guy gets one or two over me and I try to go into battle with him. Doesn't end up well.
You need to realize there are a decent amount of players who play good and stacking off the fish. Let them do their job while you do the same.
Even he's a big talker he's got a huge stack to back it up.
But if he's being too loose and starts making big moves with one over pair or likewise, you may try to trap him and double up of course.

The trick is not to react.

If it takes you off your game, he's won you've lost
If it irritates you, he's won you've lost
If it makes you play sub-optimal poker, he's won you've lost

If someone is talking directly to you, and you are not interested, best put the earphones in, but don't switch anything on. When he addresses you, give him the "blank, I can't hear you look" . He will look for someone else pretty quick.

Don't make things personal. It clouds your judgement !

Yes! The table boss is fun. Nothing like playing against a big stack that's spewing chips to show you how dominant he is. As long as u can be both brave and composed enough to bet like you should.....this is a distinctly positive EV situation:)

This is one scenario where donk betting the turn with a strong hand after you've flatted his c bet can work to your advantage while he raises you cuz he thinks youre gonna fold.

I look at his stack and think, "Mine mine mine". And then go into detective mode to work out how he plays different cards and so on.

Generally I like playing with chip leader, because it is more likely he will call with hand not that strong.
However, it is important to distinguish normal deepstack from just lucky-day dude who built his stack not having a clue what he is doing (that also happens). With those players I like to play far less and am wary - the practice shows they are just as lucky against me as against others.

With my character, I would stay and punish him.

Wait patiently until you have the best opportunity to stack him. Then he will realize who the real boss is. Eventually the table bully will shove into your made hand and it's gonna be glorious. [emoji3]
