He just wanted to see what you were betting with. It's $1.50 for information about you.

I don’t think the term “whale” should be applied to anyone playing $0.01/$0.02.

It's the most random hand I've seen in my life. I guess everyone at that table was recreational

He might be a whale or not. This hand is not a true tell for that because he thought Q-hi might be indeed best hand. Whales don’t open these hands pre typically (at least for raise), but overly egoistic maniacs do. He probably was thinking that he outplays you but outplayed himself is my guess.

Btw you should learn to make notes already if possible in your format.

I agree that villain is paying for information. But usually when I'm paying for info I want to have some sort of backup hand or else I want to pay a lot less for this info.

I might pay 0.60 for this info. No real reason to pay as much as he did.

I guess he did want to see if you were betting trips and your full house.

But my point is that if you weren't betting trips - did he have you beat? I would prefer to at least be K-high here or have a pocket pair.

Take the money......AND keep the money!

EDIT....I change my mind....if you were bluffing the whole way he is considering that his 2-pair w Q kicker might be good. AA and 88 with a Q
Good luck !

Sounds like a person on TILT :D
Or a very persistant callingstation.

No matter what, make sure you get that guy noted a color labeled, and
write down his screen name - search for him, and join the tables he play ;)

Exploit it to the max!

I have heard players say that they will "invest a lot of money at the penny stakes to learn what people are betting with.

As someone else stated, I would call him friend haha
There are lots of "friendly" people like this guy in micro stakes tables. Just take the money and be glad you were the one to hit a house against him

Hmm..several ideas spring to mind here..

He could be on tilt, he could be just on a bad roll and looking to represent hands - equally - he could just be paying to look you up..
How long was he at the table for? What was his play like - did you note any of his hands at showdown..so much information can be gathered by winning hands but in this case, he sacrifices table image and logic maybe to set you up on a street further down the line if you take this hand and then consider him a weak player...
It comes down to being consistent yourself and let others experiment - ive done well off players who try to be clever, when in fact all they are doing is playing for luck and trying to fish any card they flop...you will always get those :)

Good Luck my friend
