Do small stakes cash games players way over-estimate villain hands?

Situation: 1/2NL where people buy in for $100-$500 for the night. No pro hustlers, just guys who like playing.

It seems like if there are 3 suited on the table, and you raise, they all assume you have flush. I saw a guy lay down top 2 pair b/c he assumed the other guy HAD to have flush.

I noticed that if I bet big, everyone would fold b/c they'd assume I always had the nuts. Best possible hand. Yea? Or is that my tight image?

Has anyone noticed this?

It's hard to say, but image usually has a big part of this. Put yourself in their situation. If you are playing a guy who is loose and throwing money, and he bets on a 3flush board, his chance of having that flush is slim. But if he is playing super tight, and only betting when he has the nuts or close to, there is a good chance he has it, and you should rightfully folds when he makes a big bet..

Time to exploit your tight image. Open your range occasionally and "bet big" on your group 2/3/4+ hands and stack up ;)

oh yea....usually $1/2 tends to be nitty but sounds like some of the players on the table are super nitty.

I can't specifically comment on your perceived image since you didn't mention how tight you've been playing, it's also table dependent and how your opponents are as well.

Saw people folding better hands than I had last night.
My tight image paid off, b/c people were folding stuff like top pair against me.
