Just wondering what some had to say here. I've been killing 1/2 and 2/4 limit and have considering a move to Vegas for a few reasons. One being poker games, two being my degree fits perfectly in that, and one of my buddies just did it and is encouraging me to as well.

I would think it would be pretty difficult to make a living off 1/2 NL as 2/4 limit and I want to bump up to 2/5 NL but I'm curios to know how much better the level of competition is when jumping stakes. If the opponent levels are similar (which I'm doubting) it would be a good idea for me consider it. I still think I'm good enough for 2/5 but I've been putting it off.

Would be perfect if I could play 2/5 and make money until I can find a job wit my degree after the move.

Need some opinions on how much skill level changes with an increase in stakes I've listed above. Thanks in advance.

I think there's some difference between 1/2 and 2/5 nl. I've played both limits some over the years and I think the jump is similar to the 10 nl---->25nl jump online. There tends to be less open-shoving, guys sitting down and not knowing the rules, not being able to read the board, etc.

I think 2/5 shifts more towards making all your value bets count and mixing in a few bluffs and such, where as at 1/2 if you just play ABC tight, your going to win. At 2/5, I think some level 1 & 2 thinking comes into play, where as at 1/2 you could probably win w/zero level thinking tbh

Stakes

I first played in a casino in austria and I managed to win money at the 1/1 and 1/2 stakes and then I tried 2/5 and I got owned badly.
Then I played 2/2 in the netherlands and got a plus from around 9k and then I tried to play there 5/5 and again I got owned badly so I would think again about it to move to Vegas if I would be you.

General aggression goes up, not as much limping. You start to see more 3 betting, also the average player is much more competent. You will also likely have deeper stacks and this is again because the individual player is better.
