I played at a $2/$5 table tonight... Started with $500 (which is max buy in), was up to about $1500-$1600 (this is from grinding out 6-7 hours of playing)... It was getting late and I was getting a bit tired and was just about ready to leave when I get pocket Js... The fish to my right, who had about a $1200 stack (he caught a straight draw for a double up on a showdown against trips), raises it up to $25 preflop... I reraise to $125... It folds around to him and he calls... Flop comes 8 2 2 with 2 hearts... I have position, but he bets out $250... At this point, I should have moved all in, which is what I usually do with an overpair depending on the situation, but I instead just call (bad move, I know)... Turn comes King... Now he moves all in for about 8 bills... So at this point, I'm thinking he has a flush draw... Then I second guess myself and put him on AK and I took about two minutes before I talked myself into folding and flipped over my jacks to show him what I folded... He flips over 9 7 of hearts with a sigh of relief and asks the dealer to show the river... It was a HEART!.... But wait... JACK OF HEARTS! Which would have filled me up!!!

I think me not pushing all in on the flop was a worse move than not calling his all in because by not going all in, I not only gave him a free card, but I also let him put pressure on me to call with a pair of jacks with a king on the board... I played great the whole night, but this hand towards the end of my session was my biggest mistake... Why didn't I call? Or better yet... Why didn't I push on the flop? If I call and win, it would have been a $2000+ profit night instead of $600.... If I push, I think the fish still calls with the flush draw and I still take it down... I guess tomorrow's another day... I just hate that I made such a stupid mistake...

Okay I have not read any more than this at this time - but HUGE LEAK to still be there or not at least get up and walk, get a drink (NA). I have dribbled off way too much money in the same circumstance - the mind is just getting dull after that long. Okay I'll go back and read the rest...

Okay, read the rest and OMG that's me!!!! Yep, brain was tired and not firing on all cylinders. Just cannot stay on task. When was the last time you ate or hydrated? These (and rest) is what the brain runs on. It;s the old kids who eat breakfast do better in school than those who don't. You think Ivey eats that apple to relieve boredom?

Whatever happened, stop being results oriented.

What kind of fish was he? If he's loose and passive like most fish, I think it was well playe. I wouldn't say that he looks passive from this hand though.

What position did he raise from? If it was EP or even MP, I doubt he could be called passive, since he raised pre and then double barreled pot sized bets with just a flush draw. To make a decision about this, you need to give us earlier hands and not the results of this hand alone, which are going to tilt people's analysis.
