I'd say continue with your $1 SnG's until you have enough to branch out elsewhere. Poker requires a lot of discipline, and that can also be said about the bankroll used with it.
^^ This! Totally this. TheKid84 just hit the spot. If you are already doing well and getting more experience at $1 6max SnG, then keep doing it, keep getting better and keep upping your bankroll.
With $28 you're already bankrolled with at least 25 buy-ins for those $1 SnG. Move it up to $50 and try the $2 SnG, and on and on.
For example, a few weeks ago I decided to spend around $15 at different types of SnG's (6max,9man,HU,180man,turbs,regulars), tourneys (6max,9man,turbos,regulars,deepstack) and cash to see what's the one I enjoy more and have +EV. For now I'm still spending
But what I noticed is, if you wanna try different games, you're gonna lose money very fast with a small bankroll, unless you're good at them all.
And also noticed that for each type, it's own type of game play. So pick one where you win and enjoy it's style of play
