Is there a difference between a 'depolarised range' and a 'thin value bet'?
For example, let's say that the board is:
Kh 8h 9c 4c 3d
(so the board is full of busted straight draws and busted flush draws)
If you have a hand like 88 (a set) or JT (busted straight draw), you're going to want to bet very big on this board texture, since your range is polarised and you want to either extract maximum value or generate maximum fold equity.
But some people like to get tricky and make huge 'thin value' bets here with a mediocre hand like KJ, since they expect their opponent to 'hero call' them with a weak hand like T9 that thinks they're on a busted draw.
Is this the same concept as a 'depolarised range'? Is there any difference between a thin value bet and a depolarised range?
