Hello everyone, I was reading a thread of a month ago about how donk bet may be a bad play. And, as far as I could understand, donk bet might be a nayve move from amateur or recreational player or used as a strong strategy, to make the agressor thinks the person who is donk betting is a weak player and 3bet it. However, I would like to know to to defend myself against donk bet.
For example:

Button: AK off suit raises to 3 BB. SB folds, BB calls.

Flop

768

BB donk bets 3 BB

What should I do in a scenario like this? I raised pre flop with a strong hand and now the flop is not helping and also the person in Big Blind Position has donk bet against me. Should I call? 3Bet? Fold? What is the best move against donk bet?

Thank you all

Fold, you have high card Ace, he has a straight (draw) or Aces bad played. Wait for the next chance, when you connect to the board

On that board with AK its a fold.

At best you are marginally ahead of a 9x hand, but you are crushed by straights and sets so even if you hit your A or K your still beat.

if the board isn't super co ordinated then you can sometimes call a flop and see what the villain does on the turn, but most of the time, when you miss just fold.

I have a strategy aganst donk bet. If it is 1 BB then I raise 3 BB. If donk bet is 2 BB I just call. And if donk bet is 3 BB or more I fold. But it depends on the other player. If he or she is a very agressive sometimes I call.
