So I heard on poker stars they have deep stacked tables. Is it 300-400BBs or something higher? I am curoius, how does that change the level of the play? No site I play at has a option for a buyin other than 100BB.

250bb - big pairs go down in value as better set mining odds even in 3bet pots , drawing hands like suited connectors go up in value as you are getting odds to draw

I think you can buy-in for 250BB at most cash game tables. Implied odds increase, so drawing hands like suited connectors and low PP gain value.

Don't other sites have this option though?

play with deep stack is more difficult, but more funny. I think more than 100BB is deep enough.

I don't think it's that difficult, it's just different from full stacked play and people who say it's difficult probably use the same strategies as with a 100BB stack.

No, other sites do not have this option --- nor do most tables at pokerstars.

What you think is irrelevant. Playing deep stacked IS more difficult because your mistakes can be a lot more expensive.

I personally prefer deepstack play. Im always taking into account implied odds, and such so it makes for interesting play. I also prefer tournaments that are deepstacked, they are the ones i like to play in. To me deepstacked and at least 12 min blind levels.

If you take notice the tournaments with the biggest Buy-ins and most money guaranteed have deepstacked chips to start and 15-20min blind levels. This is what i prefer. i think it really separates the good players from the bad.

Its the reason im not a fan of turbos or hyper turbos at all. It drives down skill and luck becomes a bigger factor as the blinds increase and your stack shrinks.

Most or the time when I sit down at a 6-max 2NL table I'm offered to buy-in for $5.

Your mistakes will cost you more, but in return your winnings will increase as well. There're more good deepstacked players compared to fullstacked, so the competition is tougher, but that doesn't make it way more difficult. You shouldn't be playing deep if you're not decent at fullstack.
