Since I've started focusing more on my ongoing poker challenge and really putting more work in on beating a level, I've been struggling with 25NL FR on Bovada quite a bit. Sure lost to some coolers or bad beats and am running a little more under EV than expected...but I can't deny that I'm getting either donked on or outplayed in some spots which I wasn't experiencing at 10NL or 5NL.
For example, I keep running into spots where we flop something like TPGK or TPTK with a draw only to have villain check/raise us on flops or check/call to the river before making a bigger bet. What's baffling is they seem to do this with high frequency on what I'd consider dangerous boards for them (i.e. they'll show AQ with a Q on flop or they'll flop like 910 with a 9 and 10 on flop but the flop has 2 of same suit and/or has possible st8 draws), we'll flop something like TPGK and OOP we'll check to them , they make a small bet or they'll check, we'll bet IP , then they'll re-raise us. We call. Turn is a blank seemingly for any draw, we'll bet IP to give poor odds, they'll flat call, river comes and shows a seemingly completed board. They'll either bet or check, but if they check and we bet they raise or if we check and they bet , we call and are shown TPTK or 2 pair? So it's like they're not giving bad odds for draws and only see their hand...but:
What's up with the 25NL player pool in these spots. Obviously their 2 pair or TPTK is very exposed to being out drawn on flush draw and st8 draw boards but I feel like they play it as if they'r acting like they're on a draw when I bet but then again am I giving them too much credit?
They either aren't considering I might be on the draw and have no idea how odds work (fish only seeing their own hand) or they're actually somewhat competent and are actually semi-bluffing (if they call along to my raises it looks like they're drawing which is deceptive and tricks me) ? One way I've found to counter it on some rivers is to check/check because when I do bet after they check I end up getting raised!
Anyone else experience this at 25NL FR. It seems oddly different from 10NL player pool, I'm definitely getting played back at more at 25NL, a lot more check/raise against me IP , etc.
To clarify this is on Bovada so HUDS are only good for the session, you can leave a table and come back unknown 100% so it's not like players are building databases of stats on me.
