I'm not much of a cash game player, I typically play tourneys (less than 4 hours per tourney) and because I know there is a definite end to the tourney I play with patience, which gets me decent results.

But I have found that when I try to play cash games, I play well at first, but I lose patience after 10 - 30 min and donk my money away. Does anyone have any tips to keep patience over a longer period of time?

Cash game time limits

If you play well precisely because you know how well a tournament will last, but you can't seem to maintain patience during cash games, I would recommend sitting at a cash game with a specified time limit. You will play for X hours, nothing more and nothing less regardless of how you are doing. This will eliminate both feelings of not having enough time to play and so you play much looser as well as thinking there is too much time to play so you play much tighter.

Thank you Mateo for posting the same question I've been asking myself.

JonathanAReth, the suggestion of putting a specified time limit to a cash game might actually be what I need to do as well

Undoubtedly there are differences between cash games and tournaments. I do not have success in the cash game because I like to gamble. I pay too many times to see the flop.Calmness is important in both games. It's an individual thing to find peace.

play limits of 0,16c, 0,25c or 0,5c 0 in cash games, these limits on pokerstars are profitable, but as you win, pause your tournaments, as I already had the experience of winning in cash games and when I had to stop, I continued and lost almost everything

Listening to music might help, but the best is discipline. Think of your cash in percents. In a tournament, your buy in is fixed. Try buying into a cash game only once with a fixed amount. Then have goal to win a percent of your cash. Say 30%. If you win...or lose... about 30%, stop that session.

Don't play longer than 30 minutes. In what a problem? I play for a session on an hour, 2-3 sessions a day. Why to play with a great effort?
Over time you will be able longer to play.

That’s a perfect reply, that’s what exactly I opt for,so far it’s been working fun plus I notice you should not have any emotional connection with your bankroll money only then you will play in your best form without any fear.

When I start feeling a little tilty I will take a brief respite from the game.
Get a snack...take a little walk outdoors...tickle my grandchildren because there is no more beautiful sound than uninhibited baby laughter...whatever brings me back in touch with the beauty of life.

there is a big difference in cash games with tournaments you have to understand that you do not play with chips at cash tables you play with your money and that's why it has more value when it comes to choosing, and in tournaments you pay an entrance and you're ready as you go you acquire chips and more chips many times when we have many chips we pay more or even go far with hands that normally would not risk so much, I propose to play with a time limit and profit limit, because with those two options you have more chances to win while you learn discipline, that usually happens to all the players that started in tournaments and migrated to cash tables, remember when you reach your limit set skip the game

I really need to stick to those tips. I'm a beginner, I've realized that my biggest problem is patience. More than once I went up to $ 40, losing everything immediately.

Bankroll management is more important than how well you play!

Well, then I would only play tournaments and cash games than you lose patience. I would also advise that if you play cash game then bets affordable do so in case you lose do not lose much.

I do not always have good patience. But at the beginning of the topic there is a message about the time frame for the game with cash. I think it makes sense. And I will definitely try this method with a time frame for the game.
