Hi, new to CardsChat. Quick question on continuation bets. I'm the preflop raiser. Holding 1010 or JJ but board seems to come KQ6 or similar everytime. Do you always make a continuation bet on the flop? If so, once called, do you slow down or do you fire again on the turn? I always get a flop like that when I hold 10's or J's. I could be on the button or in early position. Should I consider limping with those hands? I know there are a lot of variables that come into play but just getting a general sense of what others are thinking. Also, any recommendations for using this site would be useful for me since I'm a noob

Not always but if you don't c-bet a good % of the time, people will pick up on that & call your preflop raises a lot. I use memory as opposed to others using software but either way people remember & pick up on things/tells like that.

& as always, every situation is different. Position, stack sizes, blinds/antes, time of tournament (early/late), whether or not the player(s) that are in the hand w/ you are rocks/maniacs etc. all depend on what to do in a certain situation.

I never OL period.

I would suggest never OLing, especially while in position. Put the pressure on the players that have worse position than you. If you are in EP, I would still suggest raising. All you do by limping in EP is giving the others behind you better odds to limp behind. 4 or 5 others get into a pot when you have pkt 10s or jacks or any hand worth ORing w/ is NOT a great situation to be in. Raise.

I don't like to make it like this how it's said in books. I play every hand different doesn't matter if it's 95% similar to my last hand.

What I wanted to say is every move is possible just the way you feel it for this hand you're playing.

Depends on the villain, but the general rule (as for me) is to make CBET's most of the time, not only it represents hitting the hand but it also gives information on where your opponent stands.

Raising pre-flop automatically gives the opponent an idea of what your cards has so flopping KQ6 and CBETting gives them the idea you already hit either one of them which I think is good! 😄😄😄

Situations that I believe make c-bet bluffing better than checking:
You face 2 or fewer opponents
The flop contains high cards - especially an Ace
Your opponents are likely to fold enough to make your bet profitable over the long term (% varies by bet size)
Your opponents call many flop bets, but fold to turn bets very often
You have position
You have a strong draw (semi-bluff)

Thank you for the advice. Sounds like most of you Cbet to see where you're at but back out once you get called? thanks for any info. Love this site and everyone's different perspective. Playing a MTT now on Carbon and just lost set over set. Nothing I could of done but it hurts when you feel you have it. Boooooo

Ill take a stab one time. Many variables though like no. of opponents, type of

opponent at hand etc.

If I know he will not go away, Ill be defensive and just hope for a cheap

showdown.

In any case, what would have happened flop, bet you want to continue!!! Otherwise you get in on the opponent!!! If a player will call your bet, smaris and dump their 10-10 or jacks!!!
