Ignore skill, being 'before sharks' flat out is actually very bad sometimes and being 'after aggressors' equally so as you will be bullied out of many hands and not only can't you bully the bully to not overbet you but you can't know what the tighter people after you may do (so you betted a lot but turns out the guy after you has kings and reraises huger amount, this would be visible to you much easier had you be before the aggressor).

The secret I have found in positioning is that you want to stand up if you find you are clockwise from a severely unreactive player (or group of them rather) and that you are anticlockwise towards severely reactive players.

You want to ignore skill level and be before repetitive playstyled players (so actually if they are nonstop LAG maniac you want to be before them so you can see what people after them do in response to the aggression and furthermore because you gain nothing from being after them it is NOT easy money as they are doing this no matter what and are not reacting to you being after them or before them). You want to be behind the most reactive players, meaning ones who have a huge amount of variation in how they play and who will almost certainly at times be raising on turns or rivers purely because they sense weakness in you rather than strength in their hands or because they 'just feel like it' regardless of your actions.

The more often that you remain acting before repetitive set-playstyle players and acting after reactive action-responsive players, the more power you have regardless of what cards show up. This edge is not huge in terms of the profit you will make, you will instead find you lose far less because you are negating the strength of reading power that the reactive players have.

First Exception to This Rule: If a players if so reactive that they move around the table to be after you, stop moving based on them. They are clearly paying SPECIAL attention to you and you can trick-play with confidence that they will pay you off for your shown weakness or fold to your shown strength. Over-reactive players can be abused but reactive players who aren't specifically picking on you are the ones you want to consistently avoid acting before.

Second Exception to This Rule: In tables where no one seems too reactive to others but there's a LAG maniac, then you do want to be behind the maniac as there's indeed a good payday there compared to other positions.

Знание - не сила, сила - только тогда знание, которое было применено на практике
