Hi,

So I've watched some poker videos about and 2 interesting situations came out.
First one: was someone opened 3x button and sb called and hero had Td8d in BB and the guy presenting the situation said that he always at least calls there. I am not in love with that spot because will be out of position vs 2 oponents but anyway.
Second hand: 2 people limp, sb raises 5x (decent raise with 2 limpers) and now hero is BB with KsQs aaand the guy said he does not love calling here because the 2 limpers seem bad so they would call too and he will be on a big pot and reasons he would fold.
In the end i can't see a big difference between these 2 hands.. in my opinion the KQ hands is way better since if the two limpers fold hero would be in position to SB and with T8 it's guaranteed to be oop. Also KQ seems way stronger than T8. What am I missing here?
Thanks

Both hands have flush/straight potential but against the 5x range KQ is likely dominated. With the 10 8 your cards are likely live to go along with the flush/straight possibilities.

Thats my take at least.

I would like to address your first situation: Once you have a preflop raiser he assumes position with his preflop raise. Given that hero is in the BB preflop he technically gets to see everyone act before him which initially is a good deal. Speaking of good deals, with a raise infront hero is getting better pot odds to call villains raise since he was already forced to pay the BB bet and thus his additional contribution is less. So theoretically it is not a bad call. Td 8d is not a bad hand to play neither. It is highly adviseable to look for opportunities where you can play these type of hands to mix up your game and make you less predictable. Not to mention, when you flop the right cards you can make a killing by catching your opponent off guard thus making you very difficult to read.

Happy grinding!!!

I agree with you that the big blind hand is better. The smaller suited connector call is also reasonable, if you hit then you are in shape to check raise. Out of position calls, as always, have other factors involved such as amount on the table and identified opponents play. Good luck on the felt!

If you mean splitsuit, he does that for educational purposes. Never call OOP when stacks gets shallow because multiple players on the pot he says.
