Just had a look through my poker tracker stats and found all of them are pretty much where i want them to be, they are in the right ranges, but it looks like i am cold calling to much even though i really dont feel like i do it at all. I sometimes cold call in position (BTN CO) to play from LP but that is about it.
Any suggestions...

I honestly feel PF I am either open raiser or 3betting cannot find many hands where i have cold called especially from EP.

I dont think this sounds too bad i like calling speculative hands like 910s or qjs or small-mid pp from like middle position when theres a couple callers or limpers just to see a flop where if i hit the flop hard i cant stack someone..

Yeah I do get some aspects of why it is more profitable to 3bet and all that but i really dont see a flat call in alot of situations a bad play.
And as Phil Laak said "Calling is like the worst move a person can do at a poker table!" haha still not sure if a agree with this statement Mr laak....

Please someone explain to me why flat calling is considered fishy with marginal hands

I often use the terms always and never, as in I always raise at least 3x, or I never limp. But the truth is that there are some situations in which I do limp, and times that I min raise, or flat call a min raise. To me the point of raising is to limit the number of players in a pot. Some say it is to start building a pot up. For me it is to make it costly enough that players don't want to risk calling with low value hands. My preference is to see the flop heads up against one player. I might limp or flat call a min raise in the case of too many players being in the pot in front of me, which means it would cost too much for me to raise enough for them to not be getting the right pot odds to call. There might be other situations in which I might limp or flat call.

As for why flat calling is considered fishy, I think has to do with demonstrating strength or a lack of strength. Obviously, if you show a lack of strength then you're likely to draw aggression from players left to act behind you. Flat calling with a marginal hand, is a bit like announcing that you have a marginal hand, which is kind of a fishy move.

Depends what you mean by marginal hands.

Cold calling an UTG with KJo is fishy because their range crushes you. 3 betting or folding are the more profitable options.

Cold calling a single raise when OOP with 87s is fishy because you are lack positional advantage and you are not getting the correct implied odds to call. However, cold calling with 87s from the BTN when there has been a raise and 2 callers is OK because you have position and implied odds.

I also do this.
Easy to fold these after a missed flop. Do not want to face a 4 bet or a shove pre-flop.
I am especially weary with a pp, I may be facing a bigger pair.

I don't mind cold calling but its all very situational, from the blinds it is 3bet or fold for me except in the two situations where I have a small pocket pair and there is 2 or more people in, or an extreme passive/nit raises.

If there is a complete fish raising and you are sitting in position with KQ I would prefer calling to raising as you can make your hand and then put the chips in as opposed to putting more money in and you missing the flop while he is willing to float you twice forcing you to bluff if you want to win. Much simpler to just call in that scenario.

Just out of curiosity what type of hands are you cold calling with and in what situations?
