Just seen a thread on this but id like people input and advice on my case.
Roughly been playing poker for 3 years now,ive played most micro to low stacked(from 10nl to 200nl)I think im a pretty solid decent player, ive shown some good success in mtts from time to time taking a few down for a few thousand $$$$.
Anyways two weeks ago i put $350 into my account, rarely played untill the last 3 days as i ended up going on a holiday,
Since coming back ive been playing 10nl/20nl cash HU games on ipoker and on abit of a heater tbh.
Balance is now at just under $800.Id like to step away from HU for a while atleast and also im not great at proper bankroll mamagement realy:eek:
I can multi table anything upto 10 tables if in the right mood but tbh i prefer 3-4.In the long run id like a BR where i can play any MTT`S upto $30 without worrying how much i have in my account,so atleast 10k in account i think is fair.Few questions...
What kinda game would you play at this stage?
Whens the right time to move upto 50nl or back down to 10nl?
How many hours/hands should i try to get into a day/week?
Any other good advice on my situation would be highly appreciated...
Also to add i much spare time at the moment so i do or would like to get my BR up as quickly as possible without going to mad.
Sorry about the way this is written guys and gals,to early in the morning:)

Whatever you feel most comfortable with.

Whens the right time to move upto 50nl or back down to 10nl?

Depends on your risk tolerance and your comfort level with strategies you're likely to see at the next level. A general rule of thumb is 20 or so BI's to stay at a level, drop down when you go under 20, take a shot at next level with, say, 4BI's dedicated to taking the shot. So, you'd want $1k to stay at 50NL, maybe set aside $200 for taking a shot at 50NL when you have around 30 BI's at 25NL (which you have now), since losing all $200 wouldn't necessarily force you back down to 10NL.

Note that a lot of solid players advocate tighter requirements than this.

How many hours/hands should i try to get into a day/week?

What are your goals and objectives?

Any other good advice on my situation would be highly appreciated...

Not trying to be a jerk in saying this - you're probably not as solid as you think. We all tend to over-value our own skills. Moving up in limits requires a hell of a lot of study and self-analysis. 50NL is a different game from 25NL, 100NL is even more different.

I enjoy playing tourneys, but I find the variance hugely tilting. I find variance in cash games much more tolerable.

If you're not using HEM or PT3, use one of them, both as a tool for multi-tabling and for self-analysis. IMO these are indispensible tools for improving your game in cash games in particular.

Stick to the number of tables you're comfortable with and don't try to increase too quickly.

Download pokerstove (free) and use it.

Study, study, study.

Also to add i much spare time at the moment so i do or would like to get my BR up as quickly as possible without going to mad.

A few suggestions - gl!

Are there ever going to be some bankroll management posts sticky'd? It seems like one of these pops up every other week and aliengenius responds with his links every other week.

Given that the goal is to build up your bankroll, I think you should look at a couple of considerations with more weight than you might otherwise. Basically, the question seems to boil down to how you can win money at a decent (for you rate), blended with the degree of variance you're willing to accept. The combination of these factors seems likely to impact the level you choose to play at, how many tables at a time, etc.
