Up until last week all I played was tournaments low-medium stakes and I don't care what any1 says to win a tournament u also need luck and skill. Wen u have ace of spades and board has 4 spades but your opponent has a straight. Or u flop a better straight than your opponent theese type of things need to happen in tournaments for u to get double ups and big wins but I've been playing cash tables 10/20 and 25/50 and I think I'm gonna switch to cash. In a cash game I feel that your skill is more important obviously it's nice to flop the nuts but cash games are more like pure poker rather than bingo calling or u have a Ace I have a Ace let's flip. I'm in right ??

alot of bingo players at the low-medium stakes cause no one cares about blowing a 1-2$ buy in tournament.

It's not possible to win a lot of money in cash games given the risk. Cash games are also not fun or exciting unless you are playing with donkeys and fish above your bankroll.

Each player must make his own choice, which he likes more.

I agree with you. In fact, it seems that luck is the major factor in many situations...

I also think about it - Cash or Tournaments?
I have little experience, I play the limit of NL-2, my winrate is 1.5 bb / 100.
And I understand that I will not earn much money with such an result in the Cache, the more I can not play more than 3 tables at the same time.
So I'm trying to play micro tournaments now.
It is necessary to try to play both in the Cash, and in the Tournaments, and then make a conclusion

Same game different approach

I play both cash and tournies and personally prefer cash. They are the same game but require completely different mindset. Cash requires and allows more of a patient approach due to the blinds and/or antes staying constant. In tournaments, especially high-speed ones, you have to have more of a gambling spirit and be willing to take more risk just to stay ahead of the ever rising blinds.

to each his own it's only your choice where you feel better. personally, I like the Freeroll and tournament. and cash games at 0.1-0.2$ but anymore and I probably will not play

patience is important in both cases, but big money is in tournaments, you have to spend more time but if you beat the pleasure is indescribable

I like to play both modalities ... I think that at the cash tables at the levels of 10/25 or 25/50 or higher you can see a great level ... you hardly see players playing bingo ... you must raise very well your strategy, because in every spot you enter you are playing real money ... on the other hand in the tournaments you must have a lot of patience they are very long and tired ... and many bingueros players appear ...!

I play both, but tournaments are more preferable. Still can't build my own strategy of playing cash, definitely need to learn how to play it.

In tournament if you get up some chips you have to stay to get in money. The cash game if you are up chips you can leave the game. So money way i say play the cash game

MTTs when I have time to sit for 4 or more hours, cash when I have other plans but at least have 2 hours to kill.

If you think that you can easily win money on cash games, just because you play well at tables with virtual money, then you are deeply mistaken. At the tables with real money is a completely different game. There will not be fish and fools here. You will lose your bankroll very quickly.

combined playing

I say it is better to play also cash and tournaments because if you don't vary the style of playing you will end up losing. When you play a lot, only a style of poker you became bored and you start losing. So play omaha, 7 stud, holdem, tournaments, snap etc

Found in another thread (for less experienced players like myself), but forgot where exactly:
Make money with cash games requires more skill than with S&G (same tables/buy-in/time)

I could not disagree with this more. It's easily possible to win in cash games if you're a decent player. Strong players can win at either cash or tourney poker. Each has a slightly different skill set. Critically assess your personal BR and skill set and go from there.
