Are cash games harder?

Is cash games more difficult to accumulate profit or are they as hard as tournaments.

I assume you are talking about cash tournaments as well? I have found I do better in a much shorter amount of time playing on cash tables with 6 to 9 players. I have found the tournament buy it costs is a factor in winning or even getting ITM. Seems to me the more the cost to enter tourney the less "bingo"

It depends on the player. I was a lot better tournament player than I was at cash games, so it took a lot of work to get my cash game skills up to par.

For profit, cash game is easier but there is more risk involved. MTTs are harder to profit from.

I always lost money in a cash game, so i decided not to play it, but every now and then i enter a cash game with min money just for fun.

depends on your skills vs the fields you're playing/ so if you study playing cash games and have the bankroll for it so you can play with a cool head when your not winning. So whatever game study for will be easier as long as your bankrolled.

It's true, playing good cash games is more profitable than tournaments.

Cash games have less variance and more consistent profit.
However you can easily spew your bankroll if you dont control your emotions.

It's easier to see a steady rise in your bankroll with cash games unless you're very consistent at min cashing in MTT's. As others have said if you're comfortable grinding and good at controlling your emotions if you lose big hands then cash games are the place to slowly grind out.

I like to play both but it does depend on moods and how much time you have to play. I don't always have the patience for very long to ornaments anymore so I do enjoy playing some cash games here are there online. But I only play plo8 cash game mostly or sometimes the new short s
Deck Hold'em. I get too bored and don't enjoy regular Hold'em cash games LOL

It is clear that different game strategies must be used for tournaments and cash tables respectively ..! I think that in the cash tables there is the possibility of earning more money in less time ... but the risk is bigger since you can also lose more money ...! while in tournaments you must invest a lot of time ... and sometimes you do not even get to the winning places ...!

In my opinion, it's harder to play cash games. Tournaments I overcame and for now I'm well-headed and I always got tired of cash games and I did not go as well as tournaments. You can make a bunch more money in cash games than grinding it out in a tournament for 5 - 6 hours. On the flip side one bad beat could cost you a lot of money where in a tournament one bad beat and your tournament can continue if not out chipped. A lot of live casinos run high hand days which can really add to your bankroll if you get lucky. Many have bad beat jackpots also which could be life changing!

Cash games are a skill game while poker tournaments are real gambling. Cash games do not have group subsidy, they risk a lot to win a little. Cash games are for highly skilled long term, high quantity hands grinder players looking to make a steady profit and a must BRM. Since their is actual money in front of you the game gets predatory.

If you are equal in cash game and tournament play skill AND you are playing proper bankroll management then tournaments will sustain your bankroll longer than cash game. But for pure profitability the cash game is better. Think of it this way, if you play a tournament for 4-5 hours and min-cash you've maybe doubled your money. But that's assuming you don't felt in 4-5 hours. So, how much cash could you win if you went 4-5 hours without felting? A lot more than the tournament's min-cash.

Cash games are more profitable and a decent skilled player will get some good results, also you dont have to deal with variance in the same way Tourneys are played. It's just punishing if you make mistakes. In general Cash games are being played more fair than Tourneys which luck comes into big play.

My opinion

Cash games are harder for the quick hit. They know how you play and you know how they play. So your probably just going to get blinds. It is a good push/shove deal cause they don't think is a buck its more like two hundred.

One thing about cash games is the ones with good memory win more then the ones that forget.

Do you say that from experience or is there some kind of source that you got this from?

There are a few differences between tournaments and cash games.
In a tournament, when you lose your stack, you're done in that tournament. You don't have to make any decisions about when to quit, while in a cash game you can quit whenever you want-- you can make better quitting decisions than your opponents. Nobody decides when to quit in a tournament, they just quit when they lose or they win the tournament.

Another big difference is the stack depth. In a tournament, a 50bb stack is usually quite healthy. Often in cash games, especially of the live variety, people's stack depth can be well over 300bb. There's a lot more room to maneuver postflop with a deeper stack, whereas in smaller SPR situations that you often find in tournaments, the decisions are practically made for you by the time the flop is over.

One generally also has the ability to table select a little better in cash games, whereas tournaments assign you specific seats.

Overall, while there are nuances to both cash and tournament play, I believe that cash games offer more complicated decisions and therefore a chance to have a larger edge than in tournament play. I think cash games are harder.
