at the cash game do you like to play at a table of 6 or 9 players? and for what reasons?

for my part I prefer to play a 6 player table because it allows me to better manage my opponents.I still have more trouble to win with my AA on a 9 player table. what do you think ?

I used to prefer 9 because of lack of variance. It's more "math based" too, and I like that. Position matters a lot and diminishes "playing the player". But as I've gotten better, I sort of prefer playing the player. And it's a lot less boring -- you have to fold almost everything UTG and UTG+1 in 9 max.

So...depends on your style.

I think, I am just going to do tournaments and leave the cash games alone, my style of play I believe has went to tournaments because I always get beat in cash games.

I prefer to play at 9-max tables. 9-max is good for beginners, who love the neat pace of the game. The tight-aggressive game is not suitable for 6-max tables. The game at the 6-max table goes faster, more intensively and in a more aggressive style, than at the 9-max table.

I like 6 handed but also 9. 6 handed the action is fast and the swings are larger

I'll agree, 6 players is much easier to manage than 9 players. However, I feel like you can get more value from your bigger hands out of a 9 player table than you can from a 6 player table. If there are no Ante's involved, you get more time to pick up a big hand between blinds, so for that reason 9 players is good. But, you also have to bare in mind that a raise from an early position with a decent hand could easily get re-raised and it definitely does suck to have to fold a shove from this position. That being said, maybe don't raise from an early position with a semi-big hand xD.

Overall though i probably would opt for a 6 player table just because it is less stressful than playing against a large amount of players simultaneously.:fight:

At the tables for 6 players it is easier for you to use a bluff. Therefore, you manage to control the opponents easier. On a table with 9 players, the probability of a good card falling to someone of the players is greater. This means that the probability of a response to a bluff increases.

I normally play 6 player cash games. I feel that good hands are more likely to stand up rather than 9 player tables.

You have to play a lot tighter on a table with 9 players. I started playing full ring and transitioned to 6-max. ou can exploit people at any table, just be sure to find out how they play before.

I prefer 6 max cash games, I think the small table makes for great dynamics. Almost every seat has a action packed range, there's lots of post flop play if you get into a good table and its the easiest place to find volume once you get to a higher level.

With that being said it's possible that the 6 max pool is a little stronger as the smaller table makes it much easier to lose your money fast so that might also be a downside.

I like 6-MAX better because there are more chances to win, there are outs for the nuts ... There are fewer players, more cards in the deck, and players in 9-MAX and 6-MAX are the same, there and there are regulars and fish . So play 6-MAX for a more likely victory. There you can really climb.

I like both formats, actually I like the 6 handed more because of the action. Less wait for hands and I think more aggressive play.

I feel comfortable playing 6-MAX, for 9-MAX MTT tables. In 6-MAX you have better control of the opponents.

Tuning usually starts with 9er tables and stays that way for a long time. With them I have the problem that there are too many others who could have a better hand than me. With 6s it is possible to play weaker hands and I have to watch fewer players.

On 9 max tables it is easier to play ABC poker. You can wait for a good hand, the blinds go round slower. In 6-max we have to adapt to opponents and wait for AA to not be here.

For me the big difference is how often the blinds come around.

In a 6-seat game a player is the button or the blinds half the time! Even more with a straddle. So....lot of action.

And I play tighter in a 9-seat game. At least I have often seemed card-dead when i'm seated at 9-handed.

Good luck !

I particularly prefer to play at tables of 6 simply by the speed of each hand just that
