hello there,
do you find cash games more stressing and more dangerous for your bankroll than tourneys?is it my idea or are big tourneys more easy to be at least in the money than cash games, sit n gos and heads up or is simply my kind of playing and my likes?

Usually my cash games gets back my losses from my MTTs. I stress less at the cash tables. The main one for me is being able to sit out when ever I want to. In MTTs, when I'm playing 4, I'm always looking in the lobby to see where I'm at and wondering if I'm going to make the money. If I'm low stacked, I'm sitting here planning a place to shove. I could list a few more, but they will also show that MTTs are more stressful than cash games, at least that for me not you all. Everyone is different. Maybe some can relate to this. MTTs are long and tiring for me and that makes me try to make something happen and when I get off my game, I lose. Well GL to you

Someone like a cash game, for example, I really like the heads up.
The stress can be very heads up.

I don't usually play cash games i dont find them stressful, most of time i win just i few cents the only thing that stress me in cash games is the fact that i.expect to win more but players are careful in cash games now in tournements when you play with 2-3 thousands players its different they easily shove but to get payed its not that easy same at sit and go .depends what youlike what you are good ....

Cash games are much more stresfull than tournaments, at least for me. The reason for that, I believe, is that when you play a tournament, it shows virtual chips and not your real money (for example, $1500 in chips in a $5.50 tournament). I know it's just a psychological thing, but it really helps me to calm down and let myself be more confident and not be so sad after losing some chips of my stack.

Wait till your in late stages of that $5.5 tournament playing for actually 4-5 digit scores, it depends on the person actually i believe.

I find tourneys more stressful. If you play well you could win loads of hands in a row, but then suffer a bad beat and finish out of the money. Same situation in a cash game and you would still be up several buy ins.

Cash games def are not more dangerous than tourneys. Tourneys are super high variance. You can play 20 of them and not cash.

They take a huge chunk of your roll. You are better off grinding cash and taking shots @ tourneys.

Another option is to play sng less than 18 players for lower variances.

I'm finding tournaments more stressful. Like today I'm going to play one in about 30mins and I keep having doubts about even playing. Cash I've played like a million hands so even if I'm taking a shot at a higher limit, I know reasonably well what is expected. I'm pretty much new to tournaments so am lost in tons of hands. Also psychologically I feel like I've already lost the buy in and am just scrambling to get it back. I also suffer from continuously checking to see what the mincash is and how far away it is, whether I'm below average stack etc. My tournament graph is like a straight negative slope too so I feel like I'm chasing losses... lol I started playing tournaments for fun and now I'm realizing I think I hate them.

I think heads-up more difficult from a psychological point of view, and not every player is able to play it, it's easier to sit out a few hours and get a reward, paying at least double than eg 5 minutes or lose everything as fast).
Here much depends on your goals and budget. If you come to rest, then of course it is your tournament. And if you want to earn, something hеаds-up.

cash in real life stresses me out I'll shake for the first 5-10 minutes

I still play well but it's obvious I am uncomfortable

guess that also explains why I prefer tournaments

I used to strictly play tournaments/sit n go's with rare appearances on cash tables. To this day I love tournaments for their competitive nature but I honestly got tired of playing 6-12 hours (online) 12 hours X days (live). I can't say my transition to cash was flawless but I feel confident saying that cash game income is much more reliable and consistent.

IMO it all depends on your frame of mind. I find cash games supper boring due to the fact after the first 60 - 70 hands you have pretty good read on everyone and your just waiting for that perfect hand because there is no change in antes or blinds. Granted when that hand hits and you finally get action it is very profitable.

Now I find sit n go's are where the site gets their money back because you have to be very consistent and constantly adapt your game to be in the money enough to make it profitable.

And to the big MTT's there you only need 1 big win to be profitable and you can disguise your play more there with the changing blind levels and ante, and if you've made final tables before you can certainly be consistent making it to the earlier money stages by being patient when the cards aren't in your favor.

So to sum it up its all how you feel and the time you can spend playing.
