I think I am playing way too tight and nitty... tried loosening up a bit on tables where most players have stacks around 100 bb and nobody is under 50 bb and results were great.

Sadly, if I try playing 8 tables or so either:
- I can't get 8 such tables so I have to accept 2 shorties on some tables or
- tables gradually become full of shorties and I don't notice at once

Shorties make it really hard to play speculative hands and set mine, and I hate it since I want to loosen up my game (somewhere around 18 / 15, now being more like 12 / 10).

Advice?

P.S. I know some good players are heavily multitabling and STILL winning while playing looser than me. Granted, they have more talent/experience but still, obviously there is a way to overcome this problem I am having.

You just have to adjust your play to the amount you can win. If you know the villain has a big hand, and you are sitting on a hand like 98 suited, but they only have 20bbs left or so, then I'm gonna fold. Just because there isn't a whole lot of chips you can win, and you're gonna lose more times than not, so it's not a profitable play.

Pretty much exactly what happens - I end up playing speculative hands postflop against people who can't pay them off. Automatic losing scenario.

So how can I loosen up preflop without running into this postflop all the time?

Player stack sizing shouldn't really affect your ranges. Except from when they are in the blinds and you are stealing. Even then, unless I have an exceptionally short stacked player 5-15BB, I'm still raising my entire range.

The exact same postflop betting rules apply regardless of whether they are deep stacked or shortstacked. Either valuebet or bluff. The only alteration I make in my postflop strategy when facing these players is to avoid double barreling with air. C-betting is fine but once they call the flop you have very little fold equity so remove bluffs from your turn betting range and only valuebet on the later streets.
