I have a question about strategies for one, two no limit cash game hold'em. Is it ok to start at that table with just 60 dollars. The max is 200 for the tables and the minimum is 50. The blinds are small blind 1 dollar big blind two dollars. I wanted to know if 60 dollars is too low to go and play at those tables? What should the minimum be you bring to sit and play at these tables do you guys think?

Also if i do sit down with only 60 dollars is there a specific way in which to play. I tried one time and it seems like every pot was at least 10 plus dollars and left me feeling short stacked. Please note this is the minimum live game smallest cash amount tables you can start at, it goes up from there.

Any insight would be great!!

Thank you all!

I don't like starting short but alot of people do. The thing about playing short is you must play very tight and get the rock perception. You don't have the freedom to play small pairs and hope for trips and hands like kj suited are folds. Once you do get a premium hand you must play it strong and its hard to get away from them after the flop because you pretty much have 20-30% of your stack in after the flop.. Say you get kk and somebody opens 6$ you then bump it up to 10$ the flop comes 94j, so you lead out 8$ and they call, then the turn comes ace, you are stuck, if you bet and they raise you can't call. If you don't bet they get a sign you are weak and you are already in for about 1/3 of your chips. Its always more comfortable to bring almost max to table, that's just my opinion though

It's almost impossible to beat the game long-term if you play short stacked. The rake is just too high in most card rooms.

You also "cap" your own skill level. You'll have little to no experience playing deep preflop, and in a lot of cases you'll be committed to the pot if you continue past the flop. So your ability to play well on the turn and river will never develop.

The idea for a comfortable advance up the levels, you must have a minimum of 40-65 bayi ins.

Its okay to buy for the minimum if you know the strategy to it.

Another, have to have reserves for rebuy if in case we experience badbeats/suckouts.

Lastly, its better to go for maximum buyin/rebuy just for the purpose of covering them all.
