I just played 500 hands 6 tables of $10NL on Global Poker. I wasn't looking to make money, Just trying not to lose any and get the 500 hands played to be entered in their weekly $2000 freeroll.
Playing solid poker. Only playing big hands.
But I just had to laugh. When I would raise my AA KK AK. seems I would get 2-3 callers. And then I would have to play on defense when the scary flop came out. They called everything. Also AK was useless there. Never won a single hand with AK. Totally whiffed on every flop. I still ended up $10 ahead, but it was up and down for awhile

Calling machines seem to be getting more and more prevalent. If they are this smart, the think every 3x raise has an ace in it. No Ace on board they bet, without high pair you fold. Not a fan of AK despite what all the books say.

Don't bluff 'stations: take 'em to Value Town instead.

"Also AK was useless there. Never won a single hand with AK. Totally whiffed on every flop".

It happens. Against 'stations, just give it up unless you have a very good reason to believe an ace-high is still the best hand. None too likely as 'stations like to believe your pre-flop open means Big Slick, and they'll call off any pair.

I don't know why it is, but it seems that the quality of on-line play has deteriorated significantly over the last couple of years. All-ins with 2nd button on the flop, AI with subnut flush draws, AI with gut shots and nothing else, AI with TPNK -- two years ago, you just didn't see this. Now I see it at least once every session. And the damn fools will not learn! They'll stack off repeatedly and lose. They'll rebuy and sure enough, they're losing another stack by doing the same things over and over.

Usually its not long time before a calling machine gets eliminated. I often exploit their calling weakness and eliminate em myself. Atfer that, the play tends to be more traditional.
Sure, its scary with AA or KK versus 2 calling machines at a time, because they might have 2 pair and theres no way to know you're beaten. But there are plenty of instances with weaker hands when you are obviously better than a calling machine.

Poker is frustrating most of the time, and online is about playing hands it seems. Your always trying to get an edge, and as we all no its not fixed and completely random that 7-3 should take down your raised pocket pairs. Spin n go drives me crazy

Against calling machines limp preflop ALWAYS, trust me this is how you scare them into becoming aggressive because they learn that you are sneaking in with any kind of hand of any decency. This is secret tactic I developed trust or ditch my advice i dont care. When your AA becomes AAA, you will thank me dearly because their eagerness will be their downfall.

with calling station raise big (allin) when you have a hand, check-fold when you have weak hand and try to not bluff them much

~Against calling stations it is because yoru preflop raise wont scare the chaser and just indicates to them your own hand's strength.

I started with $20 and I'm currently over $100. Mostly tournaments and SnG

So there isn't anything to complain about. Just keep grinding. Don't over play AK vs fish who won't fold a pair. Don't try complicated 4bet 5bet bluffs because fish won't even understand what's going on and they'll call you regardless and you'll be the one looking stupid.

AI with gut shots and nothing else
I think of myself as being pretty tight (except when I'm tilting), but am still amazed at how many gut-shots I end up with, or would have ended up with if I'd played the hand. If I shoved with them all I'd have mortgaged the house, the car, and the boat (well okay, I don't actually have a boat) long ago.

This is a good strategy but problem is when you are on these type of table you must wait to come absolute winner for you like poker or full-house.

So, you're probably frustrated with calling stations not due to the frequency with which you play calling stations, but your in ability to beat them. All styles require a knowledge of what they are doing. Calling stations just don't fold. So, the logical way of beating them is to raise, they call. And check to the river. Unless we hit something. If we hit a good hand, just raise. If not, check. If they are aggressive calling stations, it's a little harder. If they are passive, it's fine.
