Morning all.

Am looking to add another aspect to my game. Which essentially involves using position and putting the nits under pressure.

Are there any decent articles about the theory behind limping/floating just to steal on a later street.

Playing fit or fold poker has got me to crushing 4nl, but I really think the nitfest of 10nl and 20nl is exploitable in another way. Note I am not looking for anything HUD related, as where I play does not support HUD thankfully.

Cheers

You can read "the book of bluffs", or the small ball section of Danial Negranu's power holdem (not sure how to spell the guys name). Basically you want your bluff to make sense to your opponent.

Don't do it with air. Good hands are small PPs, you can actually hit a set on the turn/river. Frequency is good enough too so it autoregulates.

I personally look for players that have a big drop off between their flop and turn c-bet percentage and play fit or fold on the turn and river. I look to play pots with them in position and take the pot away later in the hand.

But I do not necessary float flop c-bets with air. I will float with gutshots, pair plus gutshots, backdoor straight draws, or bottom pair. Basically any flop where I have some kind of equity and look to take it away when they check to me in position on the turn.

He said no HUD, so how exactly is he to know their cbet percentages?

Yeap missed the part about no HUD. In which case if your not using a HUD and are not playing that many tables you can definitely pick up on someone that is betting flop and checking turn to you in position.

Still goes back to what was already said, floating flops with total air is not something that you want to be doing.

IMO playing poker is like lying. You need to make people believe or not believe what you are doing depending on the situation. To successfully do that you need to tell a story that you have a hand or you dont. If you are trying to steal I would try to do it on the flop more so than the turn. If you give people more cards to see there is a better chance of them hitting something. Then you have to come up with a new plan when they call you after you bet the turn. The best thing you can do is always have a plan. Also another big thing is if your plan backfires you need to know when to get out and fold. There is no need to keep firing if you have air because you wanted to steal that hand.

What site has 20NL? 0.o

And I think at these micro stakes the only reasonable time to float with air is if they cbet on a board that they more than likely miss. I've noticed that in micros calling down cbets on a dry boards that don't seem to be in their range and then betting on the turn works a lot of the time
