Hi CC

I'm playing 6-max NL2-NL5 so far more or less I have learned and adjusted position opening ranges, however have huge struggle postflop play especially c-betting.

What everyone said and what seems to be true people have hard time folding on this range. It is easy when you have a set or 2P. But whenever I'm c-beting like TPTK or OESD, FD I'm generally losing.

Any rough guidance for c-betting on micro levels?

It's totally ok not to CB in nanos, but you definitely need to CB TPTK and so on. And you really are hoping them to call!

That said it sounds CB is not your problem given other talks. You need to come up with another question than CB.

OESD, FD are not barreling hands in nanos, if they have something they will call you again, against fish like passive players you don’t even need to do CB with these, but obviously CB is not wrong.

TPTK is easy hand to CB.

As I said you need to come up with another question than c-betting. My wild guess is that when you CB you mentally commit to the hand? This shouldn’t be the case. If they call your CB they love to call your barrel too so CB/c-x-x, or x-B(when hit)-B. So with TP against passive fish it could go like this (just and imaginary presentation): CB/F – B/F – B/F, against NIT CB/F – X/F – B/F, against TAG CB/F – B/F – X/F, against LAG CB/? – X/C – X/C. My point is that folding is the option to consider every time someone shows strength. And nit calling is more scary than LAG betting =)

But back to the CB in nanos:
You CB your good made hands (and TPGK is one of these too), you don’t CB with air except if flop is dry (be wary though if flop is too dry fish and lag go crazy). If your opening ranges are correct I assume this would give you around 50% CB which at least in 2NL sounds about right. When your skill develops you can then CB more, but not really too much even then.

Multiway pots are different.

ComodoDragonJesus videos are imo best to get the idea how to think in nanos. They presents a very boring play, but that is how you play in nanos.

Thanks for feedback. I think my biggest issue so far is first committing to hand after c-beting like you said but also betting when I like them to fold or betting when I like them to call :)

Against the vast majority of the microstakes players, cbetting should mostly be done as a bluff only when it's a good board for your range, for example dry flops with high cards like A72 or K85.
Then of course cbet when you have a made hand like TPGK or better, or with a good draw to the nuts. Against better players that can often float your cbets, you need to be ready to fire a second barrel on the turn, a move which can often be done when the turn comes a high card, like a K or A. Triple barrelling is tricky to pull off, and I honestly don't know if it's profitable, probably in some situations, but don't go too crazy with it at the micros.
Understanding cbetting in 6max is pretty important, since it's an aggressive game. I recommend you read about the subject in some strategy articles, because cbetting is a powerful tool if you know how to use it.

"You need another question" and look they guy stopped talking. Let's talk about whatever the person wants to talk about. I don't know much about c-betting, but I guess I use it when I am bluffing and see if they will fold on the river. sometimes as large stack I can show strength and they will fold or I dont lose much if they keep calling.

Don't cbet for the sake of cbetting. You have to always ask why are you cbetting. You can cbet for value, protection, to fold out weaker hands etc. You really need to grasp the concept of ranges before you can master cbetting. That only comes with hard work and study I'm afraid. As a general rule you should cbet 60% of flops. I think I'm cbeting 55% which is probably nitty but I'm beating the micros haha

TPTK: you should cbet flop, turn 2barrel if not turn a showdown hand, otherwise check/call.

I think the players of NL2 and NL5 overvalue the c-betting to the point of betting without even knowing why two or three streets. Something you have to ask yourself often and it helped me to improve my game is: can I bet 3 streets with this hand? If your hand is not strong enough, and your opponent does not seem to be one of those who leave easily, simply check. Checking does not mean surrendering, you can check-call, check-call quietly with one hand as a top pair weak kicker and draw value from all your opponent's bluff hands and failed draws.

This is just an example, but I hope it helps you to understand that the cbet must have a purpose and not be your standard play when you do not know what to do or are not sure of your hand.
Think that when you bet many times you will only be paying better hands and you will fold the worst hands

Good Luck!
