Bringing in the pot on any given hand is always a plus no matter how big or how small the pot. For years I have searched for weaknesses in my poker game; mainly in NLHE. As of the last couple years I found that the biggest holes in my game came in the form of postflop play. I have debated with associates, read tons of forum post, and read many, many articles on the subject matter and came to the same conclusion no matter what anyone says. If you have the best hand "at the moment" (meaning with one or two cards to come) you have to bet like it. Of course things like a couple suited cards, or a straight that you hit can be overcome with two more cards, or even a pair on the board can make it very difficult to bet as such (especially in a low buy-in).

Sorry, my computer is acting a little screwy so I got cut off. Anyways I have heard or read many ppl saying many different ways to play this situation. And I have to say that the most recent article that I read gave me the best advice (or so it seams). Imagine every hand is going to the river. Although I have only slightly adjusted my game play with it; it has helped immensely.(How I'm not really sure yet). Sorry about the posting being so long, but if anyone has some input on the subject matter I would be very interested in hearing it.

I feel the same goes for flopping trips. I usually bet them. Some people will call anything. But you have to make them pay for additoinal cards.

TBH Im a little confused. (but that can easily accomplished sometimes. )

But as far betting on the winning hand while you got it? In most cases I believe that to be a very smart idea. Obviously if your playing with a calling station and the board is draw heavy you should be wary. As well as other reads your getting from everyone at the table. Or if your setting a trap.

But for the most part I agree 100%. Bet'em if you Got'em.

I generally have better luck in trapping my opponents when I have the best hand, although I've also lost my share of pots to others picking up straights or flushes when I let them see more cards for free.

Be careful you don't bet too predictably, or you might find that you're winning small pots and losing big ones as others figure out how to play against you.
