So I got into this spot last session where I probably did a pretty bad auto c-bet. For one we're out of position and our range advantage isn't that big, so we don't want to range c-bet, and since we also have a lot of Qx hands that want to check we should protect them with some of our Ax hands. So I'm thinking something lke this:

Our range: https://i.imgur.com/NiWncKe.png
C-bet (80%~ of pot): https://i.imgur.com/3uPhwAt.png
And check the rest aiming to call a bet with most of our checking range giving up hands like T9s and 98s without spades. Maybe we want to put AK in our c-bet range as well though, not sure.

I'm thinking that if we do put AK in our c-bet range we could check AA,QQ as well as 9s8s, JTs and KJs so that we have a check-raising range here as well and make use of our nut-advantage on this board. Would that be even better?

Hmm. I think the problem is that villain can check-jam with so many hands on that board (as he is so short-stacked).
It's spots like this I would be check-calling flop and re-evaluate turn. Or if they check back flop I would do a delayed c-bet turn.
As you rightly said, you need some checks in your value range to protect weaker holdings, and balance your ranges.

I think against this v with such a short stack he's going to be shoving with a lot more holdings that beat what your currently holding. I agree with what crazy citizen said in that you may want to take the more passive line and check-raise or check the river back and then bet on the turn. You're updated bet range looks good in that scenario but for the hand you showed, ATs was probably a bit to weak to c-bet.

Also, if you are OOP, it would be wise and liberal to be checking in these situations.

Just a question pre flop. Did villain always just min raise when entering the pot? This could be a betting pattern tell if not the case, if you have seen him raise larger with more premium based hands.

He didn't 4 bet so I think he doesn't have AK/AQ holdings as many players tend to over value them, specially considering he has a 50bb stack (most good players play a 100bb stack online). Question comes down to would he shove with a flush draw and/or the gut shot and possibly Ax hands.

I would have check called on this hand not knowing villains tendencies.
