I am looking for people who play limit games (horse, o/8, and maybe some holdem) to see what type of brm techniques they use. I have seen many different answers to this ranging from 3-4 buyins to 20 buyins minimum. The main questions I have are...

1) How many BB or buyins are required to play at any given level?
2) When can you move up in stakes?
3) When do you move back down in stakes?

I am just looking for advice from successful limits players that I can use to help me improve my brm for limit games but any advice is welcome.

40 and 300........40 BB at the table you want to play at and move up to next level when you have 300 BB's at the next level increase in your bankroll.

I play micro Hold Em. The rule of thumb I use (read it somewhere) is 40 BB at the table you want to play in. For me I started with $ 6.00 and played at the .01.-02 tables until I reached $ 12.00 or 300 BB's of the next level which was .02-.04.

I also play in the NLH freerolls and sometimes when I get lucky and win, it helps contribute to get me to the next level.

Hope this hepled...I am sure there is many more opinions out there.

Please be advised that no bankroll is sufficient for a losing player...

With a $100 br, I am happily playing .25/.50 6 max LIMIT tables. Under the 40 BB rule, I could be playing 1/2 games, but I tried the .50/1 game and lost fast.

I multi table (4) and buy-in at $10 per.

Not unhappy with the results, this is probably the level I belong at right now, and the br is slowly rising, but boy, its a grind.
