I tell you.... my best record is 40 knockouts in 30 minutes because after 31 minutes i was out :)

i dont go all-in every hand like you lol..i actually play lol ...i gradually get my free buy-in after about an hour if im on my A game and take out a few ppl ...by the end of the game or if im put out i usually get a few extra bucks from knockouts and maybe some money from cashing in the tourney

Going all in for a 50 cent ko when you could win a couple of hundred by winning the tournament is silly. You usually need at least 5 ko's to get your money back in a small ko tournament. All in preflop is just disrespectful to the game unless you are about to be blinded out.

I love knockouts, not because of the bounties you recieve but the effect this has on others. Knockouts generally are much looser, aggressive, and easier to build a nice stack towards the big money. Even when you're short the bigger stacks are more likely to call with marginal holdings just because they want to collect another head. Great value, these tournies.

I play some of them, and like it a lot.
The only bad thing is the many bad beats, caus often you get called by inferior hands that hit on turn or river.

thats the most important thing to realize, when playing these KO-tourneys..

Of course its nice to knockout some ppl to get a "free buyin" or whatever.. BUT you should always remember that theres still a prizepool, and you should concentrate on winning the tournament, not knocking out as many ppl as you can.

Because like you said, others tend to be much looser in these games, because THEY want to knockout ppl..

You simply need to adjust your strategy towards those "bountyhunters" and win 75% of their buyins, not just a 25% bounty.. ;)

That is a stupid Stratergy, in a KO tournie I play my usual game,

The KOs are the icing on the cake, but they are not the cake, I've done well while getting very few KOS..

That is a silly strategy, for any game! My style doesnt suit KO, I play farrrrr too tight but going all in each hand is just silly monkey fuzz

Good game

The knock out tourney I played payed good cause as soon as you knock some one out you get most of your buy in back. I like the idea of knock out. You make money for just a few knock outs not to mention you get a good chip count while knocking out. Great game to play.

jUST WANT TO ADD

At some point after a few knock outs you have to start adding up your chances at winning the turney itself. When to start playing more tight is key. You say you won like thirty knock outs. WOW!! You should have been really super stacked at this point or just playing up and down and not much of nothing. There is a point in being up I would consider to get with the tourney and forget about the KO's and just take the one that came natural.

We can use a chemical equation to find out... mix him with 1 bad beat and see if it explodes.

1 Phil Hellmuth + 1 Bad Beat --> BOOM!

i totally agree....just because there are knockouts doesn't mean you should try and get as many as you can (unless youre playing twenty pros and you don't have any clean shirts) play solid and go for itm

Why go for ITM if you can go FOR TEH WIN !?!?! :D

"sliding" into the money and then just ship it in on a coinflip shouldnt be the reason why playing a MTT.. If you dont go for win, why you play in it then?? Take a S&G, become 3rd and you're in the money too, with less effort!! :D ;p

interesting takes on KO tourneys. I don't usually change my game up unless there is a large bounty on a specific player such as the host or a pro. If I can win my buy in or possibly more I am going to gamble.

I was in the BB w/ JcTc in a $5 tourney where the host had a $20 bounty. host pushed all in and so did a short stack. I called about half of my stack and ended up winning the hand. I was up against 55 and A7 so I wasn't even in bad shape.

I highly disagree with the OP....I play tight...everyone tries to get a knockout so I just take them out since I have a preium hand. These tournaments are the best if you happen to be a short stack, everyone calls with crap cards for your bounty...

Play to win...knockouts only if...

I just look to advance, but when the time is right and I feel someone is overbetting or I have a lock hand, then I welcome a knockout opportunity. It's a fun game, but too many go ballistic which pays well for those who play sound poker!

Just curious. If you play a bounty like that, what does your rebuy and freeroll strategy look like?
