Hey Guys,
i'm a little bit advanced poker player who just started playing on pokerstars. I know the basic strategic things like pot odds, implied odds,semi-bluffing,... Now I am playing 0.01/0.02 NLH and my goal is to climb up the ladder. To improve my skills I want to read a book, after researching I found to 2 books, sound good to me:
1.) Harrington on Online Cash Game
2.) Small Stakes No limit Holdem

Which book will give me better results belong to my profit and do you have some experience with one of them ?
I would be happy if you are able to help me :D

At the level you are at most books are going to say the same thing in slightly different ways so whatever intro book you choose is fine. After a basic strategy book or two you will want to find a more math based book like Applications of No Limit Holdem

Read 33 Strategies of War by Robert Greene

It teaches you that war is won by countering the enemy's style not by having some rigid TAG style.

Most players in baby stake cash games are, however, fairly loose and more on the passive side so yes TAG does work there but understanding WHY it works and when to alter the TAG style is key.

You can't improve your game by reading books. If you want to learn how the game is played in general, yes you can read some books. But to improve your game there's no way to do it from books. Let's me ask you something: Can you improve your driving skills or your sexual skills by reading books? ... haha...haha. You cannot become a winning player by reading all the books related to poker in the whole universe. Just keep reading and reading til the end of times and still be a loser like everybody else out there.

The money of this game are hidden in places where you cannot find them in any published book and also you can't find that place on your own. All the books gives you just enough information to keep the game going for the skilled players. Not a single book author play the game the way he describe it in his book. He's telling you guys to do something that keeps more money coming in the pockets of the masters of this game. .. Good Luck with your little Amazon books .. haha,...haha

Well reading some books may teach you to think in some way but it will not directly improve your game.
However the change of thinking may change your game a lot. Not only thinking while playing poker but thinking in general.
Learn to analyse different situations. Learn to be cautious. Learn to look on the same thing from different perspectives.
Poker is way too complex and complicated to be described in a book.

I prefer try and fail strategy but reading can definitely improve your game non directly, at least a bit. It may show you common mistakes that might cost you a lot as many non professional players tend to do the same or at least similar mistakes. However don't expect a book to make you winning player.

Good luck

"Your Best Poker Friend" by Alan N. Schoonmaker - is good book, but 9000 hours of practice is the best for any business

I have read and can recommend Small Stakes No-Limit Hold'em. But be aware it was written about games higher than .01/.02.

Before I read it I wasn't aggressive enough. After I read it I became too aggressive, and my results suffered - you can't bluff a player who never folds middle pair, and at microstakes those players exist. Then I read it a second time and really understood it.

Although it doesn't say so in the title, it is really the second part of a two-book series by the same authors. The first book is Professional No-Limit Hold 'em: Volume I. Most players at .01 /.02 will benefit from reading that book first.

I have read Harrington's first three books on tournaments, and also thought they were excellent. But I have not read his online cash games book.

I was going to suggest the same books from Black Rain. Crushing the micro's and he's got a new one I haven't got yet.

Read Collin Moshman SNG Strategy, read several times and when they played and won, there was no joy from winning, did it right, read Harrington , but the basis of poker, he gives understanding, and one reading the result will be, it will have to re-read several times, and t proschityvaniya books the game will improve but a champion of books does not become, as not one champion did not read not one book )))

"The Grinder's Manual" is a really decent cash-game book. A lot of it is about basic good play, but basic good play is what crushes 2NL.

Forget the books for now, just play as much as you can and build up a large sample of hands and review your play regularly.
