You know this is a forum on the internet not your cell phone right? You can type the words out with minimal effort.

To your question, stakes make a big difference on your bluffing abilities as well as when you are bluffing. You can not just bluff whenever you want and expect it to work.

Bluffing tends not to work as well on line. For instance bluffing to establish a table image is largely wasted as most aren't paying attention to you anyway. As Steve stated this varies somewhat depending on the buy in, structure & your familiarity with the other players.

Bluffing worth it? Um..? Whats bluffing for you? Playing every hand and raising with nothing? Id say making a continuous bet isn't a bad idea, but like i have seen in the other post, yes, it depends of the game you are playing.

figuratively speaking bluffing SHOULD be easier online because you dont have to worry about giving away a tell however i dont think it works nearly as well as in real life but thats just my opinion. Ive bluffed off alot of chips that i think i mightve been able to pick up at a live ring game. but just my opinion

Wait for the good hands to come. U dont need to throw your stack away at nothing when they may just be slowplaying you the whole time. Happens way to much online. Especially if youre at a table where people are coming and going every two minutes. No one can tell if your good enough to have the hand you are thought to have. Just wait for the good one and go for the kill.

Everything is situation dependent but in general the best philosophy is to play solid tight poker.

One thing for sure: Bluffing against opponents that call too much is not the smartest of moves:willy:

Bluffing is really not worth it at the micro stakes.

Now stealing that is another story.......:icon_sant

bluffing is neccesary in poker period online or not. Personally i reccomend semi-bluffing because at least then you have a pair or two pair when theres a flush or straight out there and you might be able to take down a good pot by semibluffing. i have made all out bluffs but i make sure to establish my tight/aggressive image first and i only bluff out the loose aggresive players but im very careful about it and i need to pick up a betting pattern to do it.

Bluffing and semi bluffing with the right frequency and against the right players is going to show a much higher winrate than someone who plays straightforward. People who play straightforward will never get that high in the ranks as their play becomes far to easy to play against.

This is a large variet question. Bluffing is superior is sng and tournament play. It also can come into play in the limit game. When you play low stake limit cash, on the other hand, try to avoid bluffing for it will only hurt you.

Bluffing is effective online especially late in tourney when blinds are large. With that said, i think table image is extremely important at these stages of the tournies. Of course, positional play is important as well as patience, thats what people mean when they say`you gotta pick your spots`. Early stages of the tourney is when you set up your table image and then you can change gears in the middle stages. Showing a few bluffs can be detrimental  to your game but that is still being debated within these forums. But to answer your question, I would say YES, it is worth it.:deal:

Why do new members start stupid threads like this? If you can't pick spots to bluff, your money is down the drain, bottom line. A perfect example was tonight game at UB. I was card dead the whole game and the only pots I won were bluffs. To answer your question,,,,YES

bluffing has more to do with the buy-in as well as it has to do with how well your reading the table. at a higher buy-in people will be more scared to lose so if you pick your spot right you can pull it off. but as a lot of people have said/agreed already most people dont pay attention. so thats really useful to know. because if they dont watch the players at the table they dont know your style of play.

it also kind of has to do with how many people are the table IMO. say a full table 8-9 people there are better chances of being called. so you should really pick your hands when you try and pull a bluff. when you get down to 3-4 players you can open up a variety of hands instead of just Premium hands.

i would suggest that at the lower levels never bluff because players at low limits are willing to call with bottom pair and are hard to bluff-now as you increase in stakes bluffing becomes more of a weapon since high level thinking players are capable of laying down monster hands if they feel they are behind-also never ever show a bluff-why give away info-the_urge27

I think its worth it to bluff online depending on the game you play, but when u get reraised and you have nothing there is no way u can call that person..

Bluffing works better in live tournament than online tournament but still gotta use the weapon bluff. Just pick the right spot and right opponent.

i do bluff online and intimidate my opponents. all you have to do is raise during the right time when you get a gut feeling. thats what it is all about.

bluffing online is a great weapon but keep in mind that you can only bluff good players-players that are willing to lay down monster hands-at lower stakes do not even try it as weaker players refuse to ley down anything-at lower stakes you need to have a read on the player and really believe that they will lay it down-the_urge27

If you never bluff, you are giving up one of the most lucrative parts of the game. If the best hand won every time, it would be a terrible game, like keno.

For me it seems like betting goes over much better in the 6max ring games, then it does in full ring or even some of the SNG's

Of course you can bluff ... but just remember that you might just have to [and be ready/willing] to fold, depending on the response/position. So bet a respectful amount, then observe the response/effect. This is also a good way to "test" the others at the table by the way ... yep you can gather tells [or habits] by such observations over time.

Bluffing is good at times and sometimes a little bluff gets you a big pot. and if your not careful you can loose. if your bluffing and you get a reraise fold. at least you can make a comeback.
