You're right, paired boards are good to bluff at when checked to because it is less likely that your opponent has hit the flop. You will need to re-evaluate if they call you though as if they flopped trips they are likely to check it to you.
It is better to give more information with your questions like history with opponent, reads on them, stack sizes, what hand you hold, board texture etc. etc. With more info you will get better, more helpful answers.
