Just curious some peoples strategies late in MTT, i placed like 200 of 4,500 in the 750k Sunday on FT yesterday, when it gets that far in i feel like everyone either pushes all in or folds. I mean i was in the bottom quarter with 35k in chips, ante is like 400, BB was something like 2400. Limping in isnt allowed, so i find myself passing up playable hands because i know i will most likely have to commit my whole stack if i wanna see the flop. so a round or three goes by, cant steal, almost everyones all in is getting called, A rag, ....even like K 3 calls from the big stack. So ok nothing hits me of course and im down to like 19k... Should i continue to be patient, after the blinds passed me that brought me to 19k i was like screw it next over i get im pushing all in or it will be pointless anyways, when i do hit doubling up 5k isnt gonna keep me alive. 3 hands later A5 i push, all fold, SB has AK naturally and im out...$500 richer but still, seems like its just blind luck that late....... i know dont get yourself in that position i guess, i was in the top percent the majority of the game but its tough when the 160k in chips bets 10x every hand for two hour, and somehow continues to knock people out with trash...... advice?

When it comes down to large fields, i mean really large fields how much skill and how much luck is involved in determining the final table? How many times do you need to get lucky to stay in a huge tournament? You are bound to get sucked out on eventually. It's an inevitable part of poker. How do you escape bad beats?

Thanks for the post link, Very great strategy, very similar to my own. I have won some big tournaments but i think a couple things you said, I know I need to implement. One being I don't raise enough preflop with some of the starting hands and i get bad beat trying to slow play...sometimes. Of course when it works out it does big but more often then not you accumulate less over time that way. Anyways thanks and good luck.
