I have lost close to 500$ over the course of 2 days in NL25 ,
My bankroll was around 1300$ and now its like 800, i have like being badbeaten all day and have taken a break 7-8 times everyday.

Lost for instance AA vs QQ 2 times today preflop when the queens got quads and stuff . 50$ each pot. I mean what should i do now ? nothing is going my way.
PS.. I lost like 160$ of that in stars tournaments, it really sucks with 10min blinds, feels like a turbo aswell.

So what to do now, and have you guys haved this kind of downswings and how have you handled it ?

Thanks Appreciate it !

1. don't play mtt's, sngs, etc. Stick to whatever game it is you play (25nl)

2. Keep grinding through it, bad swings happen so you just have to play through the pain so to speak

3. If you feel like your losing confidence, you can always move down and play lower limits, not that this will neccesarily break the bad run, but it should help you to regain some confidence.

4. Post some HH's of big losing hands, questionable spots, etc. around the forums and allow others to see if your actually just "getting unlucky" or if your actually making big mistakes

yup

I run into bad streaks here and there...had a real baaaad one for about 6 months straight. Couldn't win, always bubbling but ya gotta stick it out. Usually learn a thing or two also. It's fun to win but you definitely can't expect to do it all the time. Ride it out, things will always turn around.

LOL we have a guy that does that every game at a garage game. Or he gets up and randomly does the robot. Pretty funny stuff lol...what's not so funny is it always seems to work for him....

Sorry, guess these two posts could have been in the same post...DOH (facepalm 5x)

as already remarked, a good alternative is to play at a lower level, but before you could try to relive the hands that were missed by not "bad luck" only, which try to find the mistakes and not to commit. .. By "bad luck" you can lose a few hands, but if you come play your cards right many more times will you achieve stay with the boat

Review your hands, if youre in with the best of it everytime then nothing to be down about. Just variance.

Nothing you can do..

If it's varience then so be it...but check to see if you was in front or behind when your chips went in.

You're only down 20buy-ins at 25nl. What hand sample size are you on? I'm down 25+buy-ins or maybe more at 5nl.. over 70,000 hands (I didn't handle it well btw at all) so I'm sure it's possible for a downswing to be much higher at 25nl.

Just keep grinding it out and make sure you are getting your money in good.

There is nothing you can "do" to stop it.

I always suggest playing at a level where you're both within your roll and emotionally comfortable *at any given time*. This means that as soon as I noticed the downswing was affecting me (note I said "me", not "my game", I'd either have dropped to a level where I would no longer be affected, or more likely, stopped playing altogether until I could play again with a positive frame of mind.

I'm sure this approach doesn't fit everyone, but it works for me. While I play mostly MTTs, one thing it has contributed to is that I've never had a downswing anywhere near 20 buyins at any cash game level.

All of the above advice plus posts some of your HH so others can see what's up. You need to look at them as well and see what is going on.

The most Important thing u can do during a bad downswing is come into each day with a fresh mind. You have to completely forget or disregard what happened on previous days and be ready to play ur A game. It is inevitable for it to turn back around. I would suggest working out hard to make sure ur head is clear. It helps me.

Learn from ur mistakes, bc no doubt every player plays worse in a downswing. Maybe put a stop loss of 4-5 buy ins a any given day for the time being.

Dude, please don't take this the wrong way as I only mean to help and do not mean to come off sounding condescending.

The fact that you were originally not aware of Pokertracker 3 or the 'other' software programs that allow you to graph your results is a huge tell that you may not be ready for 25NL due to being a bit of a beginner and having some huge leaks in your game. Again, don't take it the wrong way. There are tons of people who have decent experience playing live $1/2 and what not and do reasonably well at it. 25NL online is much than 1/2 live. Hell 10NL online is tougher than 1/2 live.

The good news is you've come to the right place. If you can afford it I would suggest purchasing Poker Tracker 3. PT4 is in beta right now too so you might be able to get into that for free for the time being.

There is a free open source tracking program that can be found here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/1...ease-candidate-0-29-905-17-feb-2012-a-273001/

I've never used it before but it seems like there are a lot of people updating and using the software so if money is a problem then can be a good option.

You should consider playing lower too. If you don't mind losing while you educate yourself then by all means stick with 25NL but winning can be easy at lower levels, and its great to build confidence and profit while you learn.

Once you get tracking software running on your computer post trouble hands where you weren't sure what to do. Don't include what the other guy's cards with and don't post stuff where you got all in preflop with AA and lost since you obviously played it fine. I'm sure you'll get some great advice that way and be well on your way to crushing the micros.

With an $800 roll, there is no question that you can afford PT or HEM. It's certainly possible to beat NL25 without either one, but they're tools that improves your chances once you learn to use them.

Stop playing MTTs and start playing 10NL. I recently moved down for about 25k hands and it has made all the difference.

Take a couple days off, review Hand histories. After you evaluate you play and feel emotionally stable jump back in.

if you're losing with aces, you are just getting unlucky. not much anybody can tell you in the forum except for take a deep breath and go at it again.
and also, definitely view the hand histories for some of the hands where you werent the favorite (unlike with the aces)

Do you use a hud? If so look over your hands and try to evaluate all your hands and learn.
