Thoughts on this? I always try to be consistent in my betting patterns, whether I am bluffing, chasing a gutshot or have the nuts. I feel that this gives away as little as possible to the opposition. If I raise on a hand, I raise the same percentage (usually 4x blinds). I also try to make my call, fold or raise in about the same amount of time. Ideas? Do you think this opens me up to 'monster hand chasers', guys (and gals) waiting for the killer hand and playing tight the rest of the time?

Your consistency of play will give you away. If you are always playing the same hands the same way then someone will catch onto to you and you are hopeless. You must mix up your game to throw people off so they dont catch onto a betting pattern. You must be as mysterious as possible to them in your play.

Betting patterns are really my crutch for online play. I have to use betting patterns for my tells. Very important to play alot of hands to get good at reading someones betting patterns.

he's saying he plays EVERYTHING the same way...EVERY HAND. Either way, this is bad. You should vary your play randomly

I don't think it's a bad strategy at all - I used to play exclusively like this, and still stick to it, but have found that switching it up in certain ways helps.
PF I always raise the same amount (unless say there are several limpers, then I'll raise the pot) but like Arbakov said, the size of your bet may hint your opponents as to the strength of your hand.
I raise 3.5 or 4 bbs every time, so that opponents are left guessing as to whether or not it's a steal or a real hand.
though I like to mix it up in tournaments, as the people there won't be seated with you too long, so it's useless to try to bet like that.
Once in a while I'll also pull limp-raises, and mix it up a little at cash games if i feel the table is too loose, or if i have a certain read on an opponent.

I think this kind of play works well with observant players, but at the low limits and micros that most play, it's next to useless when you're playing against someone who really doesn't care about your betting patterns.
