When the flop shows numbers such as 2-2-2, 3-3-3, 4-4-4, etc., some players will try to bluff betting an amount similar to numbers in the flop. For example, a flop shows Q-9-9 and a player bets 99, 900, 9000, or 99000. Lately for me, playing online small cash games, players will bet a number resembling, or closely resembling the flop to try and bluff that they have a 3 of-a-kind (o.a.k.) or 4 of-a-kind. Usually, if I have a good enough high card, I'll raise their bet and the player will fold.
Whenever I have a pocket pair of numbered cards and I hit a number on the flop for a 3 of-a-kind, I'll bet an amount not resembling the 3 of-a-kind to try and not spoil my hand. So, from now on, I'm going to try to play mind games with my opponent and possibly bet a numbered amount resembling my hand. For example, if I have K-10, and the flop is 2-5-10, or 5-10-10, I'm going to bet 10 or a multiple of it such as 100 or 1000. Hopefully, the other player is holding A-K or A-Q and believes I'm bluffing from other players frequently trying to bluff that they have a pair, 3 o.a.k, or 4 o.a.k. Hopefully, my opponent(s) will raise my bet and I can get more value from my hand.
Of course, the opponent can hit a pair or better on the turn and river. In addition, I've held hands such as A-A, A-K, K-K when a flop of 9-9-9 occurred and my opponent bet 90, or 900. Turns out they held the other 9 completing the 4 o.a.k., much to my dismay after going all-in thinking that they were bluffing.
Good luck to all, and remember, it's just a game, cash game or not, so have fun!

I have flopped sets quite a few times and it just so happened the set was close to what I was going to C-bet with, for example I was going to C-bet 900 but I flopped a set of 9's so I bet 999 instead of 900. I have done this several times but just as a joke and never in anything over a 20 dollar tourney.
