It would depend on how the players play. Are they tight players? Are they loose as heck? A good read would help you place your bet. At the same time, you don't want to kick everyone out and not get any money in return. Trips after the flop are usually pretty strong hands... and most people (not all) who have pocket A's or K's or Q's would have raised before the flop.

Also depends on your position.. make the minimal bet if 1st to choose. Either someone with an ace will call or raise. I occasionaly like to call that to tose out bait and see who bites. Then again they "may" think you have an ace. Once again depends on the circumstances of how many are playing, what type of players they are, and position. Yet if someone bets before you, more than likely they have the ace, not always.

A lot of times a small bet "to see where you're at" is a good idea in a short-handed pot. If you are in a large, multi-way pot, usually it is best to check because it is much more likely that an opponent holds an A or a Q that could beat you.
